I didn't see any threads regarding this particular subject; so I apologise if this has been/is being discussed elsewhere.
This thread is centered around rather less please aspects of life, war, and civilisation. Aspects like torture, genocide, and the use of chemical and biological weapons. Now, I do not mean to offend anyone and strongly suggest that if you can't handle or stomach talking about such subjects in an analytical way, you simply don't read this thread. All of these have been and continue to be used through history.
Torture is common throughout the world; either as a (ineffective) means of gathering information or for other (often disguised) reasons; such as sadism or extreme religious views.
We all know about genocide; it's mass murder. Often for racial, religious, or political reasons.
Biological or chemical weapons are exactly as they say on the tin. They are pretty much uncontrollable engineered agents realised used upon enemy forces. They usually cause mass casualties in both enemies, civilians of both sides, and friendlies. Sometimes they are simply poisoned weapons; like when soldiers used to store bullets in dead bodies so that even a grazing wound could cause lethal infection.
I created this thread because I haven't seen any discussion on how such things will be handled in game. This is a game with a heavy focus on realism and these are real things that really happen; not including them, in both sides of the equation (both as the aggressor and victim), would simply seem out of place.

I'm pretty sure that these things will eventually be included in the game once we get to that stage.
Biological and chemical weapons would be created in the Tech Editor, once they had been researched the the Tech Tree (or equivalent) and could then be applied as a weapon. I might even be that you design the components of the disease or chemical as there has been talk of possibly being able to edit microbes in the later stages for your purposes. This is less likely.
Genocide is even more likely to occur as there is no doubt you will be able to wage war, so targeting a certain group doesn't seem a far stretch.
Torture I left to last because I think it is the least likely, If it is included I think it will just be simulated as a result of researching and turning on the torture policy. However, this is all still conjecture.

That all makes sense, thanks.

Don't forget morale!
Particularly brutal weapons and tactics would likely cripple the target squads' morale more quickly than conventional ones. There might even be treaties to outlaw their use.

Of course, the country that uses the weapon could get a massive stability hit for doing such things (although depending on how they feel about the enemy it could be a boost, if they're doing a holy crusade for example).
It would also make other people hate you, either because they liked the target, because they hate those methods of war or simply because they wanted a reason to declare war on you and take your stuff.

Well those "morale-breaker" strategies didn't work well in world war one so I don't know if they should have a huge effect on the target in thrive .

Stability loss would only make sense of your race both a( cares and b( has done so before and hated it. If your a race that sees little value in life or cares only for victory (more brutal cultures or any like species) would have no problems with it. The only problem such could bring would be if it kills your own side. Would we be able to design the bio/chemical agents? And the structure and method of genocide should we chose to commit it? Don't forget morale! Particularly brutal weapons and tactics would likely cripple the target squads' morale more quickly than conventional ones. There might even be treaties to outlaw their use. Again, treaties only if you're social. That begs the question of how morale could work. Drone (ant) like species or extremely warlike and violent races or machines would be very difficult (if not immposible) to break.
