Round 6 (
Round 5;
Round 7)
Event: Quests! or achievement, call them what you will. The first person to complete one of the things below gets to choose from:
1. 3 extra votes, usable at any time, utilizes normal dice rolling rules
2. One extra vote that is guaranteed a super evolution
3. The ability to make an extra vote on another players’ species (could be good or bad)
This is done to encourage friendly competition and an evolutionary arms race. Anyway, here they are:
First person to reach the land. To do this one will need to have low pressure tolerance, desiccation resistance, and some way to exchange gasses with the environment.
First person to get 5 senses. e.g. Sight, smell, touch, electroreception, magnetoreception, etc…
First person to purposefully drive another player extinct Could be as a result of over-exploitation or purposefully evolving to kill them.
stealthstylelMulticellular: 6 = 6 | Better than expected
Muscles: 5 = 5 | Bonus vote
Description: After spending countless generations evolving cells that dislike each other, this population has decided that community is the most important thing there is. These cells have overcome their mutual hatred and have even developed a binding protein that allows these cells to stick for short periods of time. In addition to this, this species has developed undergone a revision of its genetic code and has developed a gene that when expressed (and it is expressed at a 50-50 chance) expresses a bunch of other genes that in turn cause this cell to be able to contract in response to stimuli (although it is still not a true muscle cells, you will need to vote for a poly-nucleic cell if you wish to form muscle fibers like in humans). The problem is that the cells of this species are unable to send stimuli, which causes contractile cells to contract randomly and cells to break of and swim away.
Past Adaptations:
Flagellum
Mitochondria (20% efficiency, going to come back and haunt you later)
Predatory Pilus
Cells repel
Conservation Status:
LC (about half of your population is useless)
bigyihsuanPhagocytosis: 2 + 2 = 4 | Worse than expected, but better than a 3
Lysosomes: 5 | Bonus vote
Description: This cell has developed the ability to engulf cells that are smaller than it and then digest them to create energy. This has caused this species to embark on a heterotrophic lifestyle and to hunt cells that are smaller that it (which is not too many cells at the moment).
Past Adaptations:
Mitochondria
Flagellum
Conservation Status:
CR – was on brink of extinction, population will now start to recover
mitoboxPseudopods: 1 = 1 | Opposite than expected
Description: This species of cells has developed a fairly rigid cell wall that is quite opposite of the fluidic membrane it was going for. Although this wall protects the cell from a lot of damaging conditions, such as being attacked, it also causes this cell to float away from hydrothermal vents without any hope of returning.
Past Adaptations:
Vacuole
Thermoplast
Mitochondrial lysosomes
Conservation Status:
VU
atroxLysosomes: 2 + 2 = 4 | Worse than expected
Description: This cell has finally developed the ability to digest large pieces of compounds that it engulfs. The problem is, however, that this cell has no method of actually absorbing such compounds, and after a while, the vacuoles will run out of glucose and this species will go EXTINCT.
Past Adaptations:
Cilia
Vacuoles
Mitochondria
Multicellular
Conservation Status:
VU
deandactylLysosomes: 3 + 2 + 2 = 7 | Better than expected
Description: This species has repurposed part of its Golgi apparatus (basically just a lipid bilayer sack) to act as a lysosome that allows it to inject acids and other enzymes into engulfed kernels of food. This has put this almost extinct species on a path of recovery as not it has a more or less stable food source (although it is hard for you to hunt down microbes).
Past Adaptations:
Mitochondria
Cillia
Phagocytosis
Conservation Status:
EN
redwatt50Less dense: 6 + 2 = 8 | Super Evolution
Description: This species of cells has developed protein channels that pump compounds out of the cell making it less dense. The problem is that once these kamikaze cells reach the top of the ocean they dye from explosion. A way to deal with lower pressures would be nice.
Past Adaptations:
Chloroplast
Mitochondria
More Dense
Binding proteins
Conservation Status:
CR
zer1000Lysosomes: 3 + 2 + 2 = 7 | Better than expected
Phagocytosis: 5 | Bonus vote
Description: This species has finally managed to develop the two things it needed for survival. Well, technically, all the members of this species that didn’t have them died off, and the ones that didn’t passed their genes onto their children, but who cares about the technical aspect of evolution. The point is that this species will now start to recover, though very slowly.
Past Adaptations:
Mitochondria
Vacuoles
Flagellum
Conservation Status:
CR (your numbers will start to recover next turn)
theredtardisChloroplasts: 3 = 3 | No effect
Description: This cell has not changed at all
Past Adaptations:

Mitochondria
Phagocytosis
