Basically, if you choose to Ascend you become godlike, and do things that godlike things do. If you choose to Descend, you can choose a planet or create your own "you have god powers" and you're available to choose some presets, either a challenge or an advantage. When you Descend, you basically start all over again, but there already is a god being, your old creation. Your goal with the new being is to basically rival your old one. Become god and replace your old one. If you choose the advantage path, you're basically doing it with an advantage and you're lowkey spoonfed. If you choose the challenge path, the more you evolve, the more attention you get from the "gods" until they begin to worry about losing their place and start messing with your game, triggering different events like storms or meteors and social uprisings and basically trying to ruin you. The only thing keeping them from completely destroying you, is curiosity and hope for mutual understanding. But that doesn't happen. Instead you take their place and are given the choice to ascend and permanently become god to mess around, or descend again. The more you descend, you begin to earn different rewards. Maybe rare things start appearing in the ascension stage and you can find them. Basically by descending you make ascending more fun. And if you finally Ascend, you can travel to a new galaxy and start ALL OVER again. ALL OVER, NO GOING BACK.

Welcome vladh0z , to the forum Although I like the idea of having to rival your own God, I do have some comments: 1. Why would they start getting worried if you've only reached space, or less far? Organisms constantly make new inventions and evolve... 2. Ascension isn't a new "gamemode", so to speak... It's basically a "creative mode", or a sandbox, as a reward (I think). (for example, you can edit organisms and the like) 3. If you descend, do you lose all powers? Because if so, you can also just make a new game and set it to a harder difficulty or something... I like the idea though

Basically what Omicron said. Ascension is planned as a reward creative mode thingy. Descending sounds like a cool idea, perhaps you could go to a planet with a civilization on it, take one of their species and give it some of your powers *cough *cough* Jesus Christ *cough* *cough*

Well, I'm pretty sure you can go into Organism and Strategy Mode at any time, for any organism/faction, so there's that for "descension." Also, on the topic of giving power to an organism... I know exactly what I'd do. After witnessing a catastrophic fire caused by strife within the local sapient species, I'd take the form (go into Organism Mode) of a huge flying creature. I'd resurrect three innocent animals that perished in the flames, and give them powerful new forms (Organism Editor)...
