Round 4: The Villages of Old As generations pass and the various tribes settle in their new homes, agriculture leads many to build their first houses, and with these new villages developing the first instances of writing and government form. The first interaction between tribes creates a new dynamic to be faced with by those living within this world. A new age dawns on the world.
(First or Prolonged Contact between tribes is an event, and so is an ongoing event and first formation of things)
serialkiller🌴 - Kometenvolk Tribe EVENT: Housing Vote: Construction (17)
Vote: Mounted Weapons (7)
After years of living in the desert, the Kometenvolk have developed housing that accomplishes the dual purpose of trapping heat during the night, and letting heat escape during the day. Using the various trees, plants, and mud found around the oasis, and some unreasonably large bones they've found in the desert, they have built housing structures shaped in cones around the oasis they’ve found themselves around. The houses can reasonable shelter whole families and the Kometenfolger they sleep with. The cones have layers of mud mixed with straws and plant material that help keep the heat out, and have a hole in the tip that allow smoke to escape, though most fires only happen at night to cook food and warm families.
With the housing evolving to provide protection from the desert, so has various clothing, with most clothing now being made in layers to protect from the sands and the face during rides and the occasional sand storm. It is often made from some of the plants found naturally around the oasis, and using their knowledge of plant breeding from the fruit bushes, new plants are being bred for clothing as well.
While the desert living has improved the fashion and architecture of the Kometenvolk, the lack of actual beasts to fight or hunt has limited designs of weapons, with most of the small game found around their plants easily capture able with simple snares and the carnivorous Kometenfolger, there is really not any reason to develop weapons beyond the simple bones, sticks and simple spears they have. Nevertheless, some of the hunters who regularly travel on the Kometenfolger have developed some various weapons to use, mostly fire hardened bones and sticks that hit hard enough to shatter animal skulls when being chased down at the watering holes and fruit clusters. These weapons are close ranged and not used by most, only a select few of the hunters have reason to, and they are generally passed down from hunter to hunter as a symbol of authority.
The development of the tribe continues, with the creation of hardy structures and a sedentary lifestyle springing up around the oasis and using the cluster fruits as food has created a specific and easily identifiable culture for the tribe. The tribe has steady food sources, a means of defense, a place to call home, and a steadily growing population. However, the rise of population also threatens to use up the space around this oasis, and the fruit clusters can only produce so much.
Stability: Sturdy (3)
Power: Minor (2)
Domestication:
-Kometenfolger (large in size but short to the ground pack hunting carnivores as mounts) used as mounts to transverse desert environment.
-Fruit clusters that have supplied food to the tribe.
Supplies:
-Food has stabilized, the game around the fruit trees and the oasis is starting to reach a point of lessening, the addition of bone weapons has helped by allowing hunters to kill more game.
-Goods that are collected can be stored in new structures, but most go bad rather quickly and have a short lifespan.
People:
-Population growth is slowing, food and space restrictions are starting to constrict them.
-The creation of houses has created defined structures for each family, and given people a place to sleep and stay, as well as storing collected goods, though most goods go bad rather quickly.
-Clothing has limited the amount of sunburns and sand blasts in the desert environment
Location:
-Most of the tribe lives around a single oasis at the edge of a great desert, the oasis has trees, plants and water. Houses have sprung up around the oasis.
-The hunters and some select gatherers take their Kometenfolger out to select cluster locations to collect fruits and animals to feed the tribe, and to occasionally check the health of the plants.
Traits:
-Generations of desert living has given rise to a culture and people that know the desert well, and the Kometenvolk people have become dedicated desert dwellers.
-Kometenfolger riders- Generations of breeding and living together has created a sense of community with the Folger, and being able to ride one is a mark of adulthood in the tribe

While observing the Mosi, the tribal elders of the Hakshah have made a discovery; instead of simply eating all the fruits that are given to them, the Mosi often take the biggest and largest seeds and seemingly plant them into the ground. Taking this lesson and applying it to their own plants have revealed the success of the Mosi, and labor put in has started to pay off dividends. Now the various plants that grow up around the tribe itself tend to become larger and juicier than their surrounding cousins. The raising of these fruits and even some grains has lead the Hakshah and their Mosi allies into a rapid population boom, and the Hakshah have begun to settle these lands as their own. Despite this, efforts to preserve the fruits, or the meats, have both failed. Reliance on the Mosi for inspiration has let them down, as the Mosi simply eat what they are given, and throw the rest into fertilizer for their crops. While this increases the food output, it definitely cuts down on the preservation of food, as something is eaten or it is thrown into the ground to be eaten as something else. On the bright side this leads to the rise in the belief of reincarnation and the idea of continuing service to the wellbeing of the tribe. On the down side, lean times would hit the tribe heavily due to the non preservationism of the tribe itself, preferring to live in the moment and eat what is available rather than to save for future use.
The tribe's leaders have begun to form a sort of culture and belief system for the tribe to follow as the tribe develops, and the tribe itself is starting to form its own identity that sets it apart from the various other tribes of the world, whether it would be the close relationship between the Mosi and the Hakshah or the idea of live well, live hard. The tribe is taking shape, expanding and becoming an entity that is easily distinguished from its neighbors (should any neighbors be discovered)
The Mosi society also continues to develop, oddly enough for the arthropods, they have begun to follow gatherers and the newly developed farmers, and help identify when something is ripe for the tribe, and when it is overripe for the colony, maybe these developments will continue as the tribe grows, but for now they remain mainly gatherers and scouts.
Stability: Solid (2)
Power: Minor (2)
Domestication:
-Mosi: hand-sized four legged arthropods capable of hive intelligence and used mainly as a food gathering source.
Supplies:
-Food is growing at a rapid pace, leading to a population booms,
-Tribal ideology of living in the moment and not preserving food means that while there is a surplus, it rapidly decays and the food is either eaten, or is thrown out quickly.
People:
-Population is growing quickly, and food continues to come in,
-The development of an early faith system and beliefs have helped the tribe identify with one another, and the plenty is starting to go to their heads.
Location:
-Mainly surrounded by high grasses that stand well over a Hakshah head, but live near a small watering hole themselves and are surrounded by friendly Mosi colonies that have stopped more than 1 carnivore attack if the meat is to be believed.
Traits:
-Plain Livers, often comfortable around the high grasses of the plains and feel safe living there.
-Mosi handler, the Mosi colonies provide some food, scouts, and defense against wild animals, as well as some inspiration to the Hakshah tribe.
-” Now is Forever”, The tribe tends to live in the moment, and does not really think of a future so much as the next year, as such they tend to feast and waste, but it also leads to the tribe being dedicated to the idea of doing what makes them happy then, and some are even developing works of art or music.

agenttine -Kore Tribe EVENT: Housing, and Writing Vote: Construction (14)
Vote: Writing System (6)
Settling around the banks of the river, the Kore tribe has begun to form structures to house themselves and some of their supplies. Using the river to create mud bricks which they then set into the sun to dry, the Kore manage to create small houses for themselves. While these houses are, on average, only big enough for a few members and lack a solid roof (instead being made of leaves and long sticks and crosshatched twigs), they do provide shelter to tribe members and create a sense of place for the tribes and families. Often times around fires and surrounded by houses late at night people tell stories or sing tribal songs. As the generations tick on and the people begin to establish themselves as the people who live near the river some other things being to develop.
One of these developments was the invention of writing. This invention was a revolution in creation for the Kore tribe, and the first instance of writing in the world. This system is in its most primitive stage, with only a select few being able to read or write even the most basic words, the words that are created are not letters, more they are symbols meant to represent entire ideas in a single character. These are mainly meant to help keep track of supplies and history rather than any real purpose, this is mainly due to the fact that the means of creation, tablets of dried mud and reeds with paste, is not very efficient. The paste dries pretty fast and if the writer tries to he cannot often get more than a little written, attempts to write in undried mud tend to fail, as when the mud dries the writing becomes distorted. As a consequence of this only a few even learn how to write, generally the chief record keeper and their apprentices, which rarely number above a dozen.
The tribe’s life along the riverbed has created a sense of people for the tribe, and the creation of a culture for the Kore have led to more unity and an ideal system for the Kore.
Stability: Sturdy (3)
Power: Minor (2)
Domesticated:
-Crocigators that help hunters find and catch fish.
-Teal berries breed by the elders in the tribe, and often used for writing paste when not eaten.
Supplies:
-Food is still at a good rate, and the population and food surplus continues to increase, if at a slightly lower rate.
-Means of record keeping allow tribal members to properly keep track of and ration goods
Music:
-Reed Pipes used to corral Crocigators and as musical devices among the youth.
Writing:
-Used for record keeping and for large scale ideas, only known by a select few.
Tech:
Boating-Small rafts (2 fishers and their daily catch)
People:
-Population is steadily increasing, and most people that live near the river have long and full lives
-The creation of housing gives people a place to stay and to store their goods. The people are happy and have one another to live with near the riverside.
Location: On both sides of a river that large enough that most crossings have to be done with rafts, besides the shallowest spots. On both sides of the river are lines of trees and reeds near the bed. Further out on the side that you came in on are some plains that were pasted on the way to the river.

After the death of the demigod figure, many a tribal leader claimed to have been his chosen successor before his death in order to unify the tribe. Following some of the beliefs held within the tribe, the idea of reincarnation, the next true leader of the tribe would have been born around the time of the man's death. As luck would have it, not even a fortnight after the man's death a child was born, and they were chosen as successor. On the bright side this does create a sort of mythos around the dead figure and give the people a sense of unity, on the down side a baby is not the most fit to lead a tribe of people. As the child grows though, the fact that they are the next expected leader of the tribe has a mixed effect on them, sometimes they can become more than expected and turn into a great leader. On the other side, sometimes this leads to some becoming more like… a teenager that knows they are going to be given power when they grow up. Others still become nothing more than a figurehead to the tribal council and others still are raised to lead from a young age.
The mixed result does help set up the tribe for some success, and the end of the disease and famine does help the tribe recollect itself in the forest and the restocking of supplies.
Stability: Stable (1)
Power: Tiny (1)
Supplies:
-Food stocks are slowly being replenished as years pass.
-The famine and disease begin to fade away as the forest begins to repair itself.
People:
-The new form of leadership, or more specifically the reincarnation belief has taken hold of the tribe, while this may have consequences in the future, for now transitions between leaders is set at birth and are relatively peaceful
-Re-growing food supplies and the settlement into the clearing made have led to a small increase in population, nothing to drastic, but as people settle in the better things will go.
Location: A clearing of trees in a forest. The trees and wildlife are slowly returning to normal through the years and collection has gone up. There are small rivers through the forest and most of the trees are quite large, looming high above even people standing on one another. (no one really has a system of measurement yet to describe them)
Traits:
-Reincarnation- The Tiluceria believe in the reincarnation of the soul, those that die will live again in the form of new life, this developed as a coping mechanism to the large loss of life due to the drought and disease, and has shown itself most in the system of governance

TheGraveKnight - Xi`thoi Tribe EVENT: Tribal Organization Vote: Organized Teenage Hunters (19)
The outcome of the tribal adolescent rebellion was actually solved in pretty short order, simply put the Xi`thoi tribal leaders turned the various groups against one another, competing for favor from the tribal council. This does not actually go as planned per say, the teenagers actually supplant the tribal chiefs of old and form their own little council that works together to collect resources and supplies. The various bands compete for their own point system, which gets ingrained in them from a young age, the bands that manage to collect the most food or do well with their hunts constantly gain points, those that do bad or commit harm against other bands lose points. This creates a sense of legitimacy within the tribe and the points are used to determine a number of things, from work hours and time spent home with their loves and newborn children, to how much say they have on the tribal council. In fact, as they reach adulthood the ones with the highest points become tribal leaders in various forms. Helping the tribe rather than themselves becomes a hallmark, and the tribe begins to come together.
Not only did this system of rewards and privilege help enhance tribal unity, but it also creates a sense of competition and oddly enough cooperation, as the system allows point sharing and gaining points in multiple areas, so long as you help the tribe in your efforts rather than yourself or even your band. These competitions help bring back food to the tribe itself, and the system of leadership helps quickly identify who's good at what and where to send them. It also helps encourage inventiveness as some of the tribe members begin to create various means to fish, gather and hunt more for their band. This leads to some small advantages such as better snares, baskets, and nets being created, and eventually distributed throughout the tribe, though sometimes at a cost of advantage they usually get some compensation through the point system.
Thanks to a unique aspect of the tribe being created, the Xi`thoi have managed to develop a form of culture, and the tribe itself is becoming more stable as they spend time collecting from the area. On the other hand, the success of the bands is a double edged sword, with some forms of food being harder to come by as they get over harvested.
Stability: Solid (2)
Power: Tiny (1)
Domestication:
-Some pack animals that are largely being used to carry good and supplies, but have not been contributing otherwise as the tribe settles near the lake.
Supplies:
-Food is coming in at a much higher rate as teenage bands contribute to the tribe as a whole, rather than just themselves.
-Food sources may start to dry out as people continue exploiting them.
People
-The large population boom was actually beneficial as the increased numbers help sustain the great income of the teenage band hunting system.
-The use of the point system helps create a sense of legitimacy and fairness in the tribe, and almost everyone is contributing to the wellbeing of the tribe, if for selfish reasons.
Location:
-Near the edge of a forest, with some uniquely large “hills” seeable beyond the forest. Currently resided next to a rather large lake that seems to be a feeding spot for local wildlife and has plenty of fish, some odd rivers visible in the distance.
Trait:
-Point System- Allocation of goods and responsibilities based on previous input to the tribal wellbeing.

NickTheNick - Pyrean Tribe EVENT: AgricultureVote: Domestication of Plants (16)
Taking the argument that even if this is not the true Holy Land, one must survive the journey to actually get there, some of the Pyrean leaders have appealed to their people to work together to accomplish this. Whether they truly believe this is the true Holy Land, or if they believe they should continue North or head South, the various people have agreed to band together for now to survive, though not before the tribe has divided itself into different groups to accomplish their goals. The different groups have claimed different spots along the hillsides and have begun to focus on the plants, as the animals are rare enough to grab.
This shift proves wise, as along the opposite sides of the hills and along the wet marshy land are some small tuber plants that were initially missed in the chaos of the initial movement into the hillside, and the tribe has as a whole begun to cultivate and harvest these plants. This cultivating has gone better than even the tribal leaders have expected, and cooking these ground plants have revealed them to be quite nutritious, and after a few generations are shaped to be a short and wide cylinder that is white on the inside, brown on the out, and have a single leaf growing from the “top” that sprouts through the ground, hence why they were hard to spot by the ancestors of the tribe.
Food production has gone up, and some of the tribe is starting to feel more comfortable about calling these hillsides home, even if some of the more radical elements still insist on moving forward or back, the majority of the tribe has grown to accept their life in these regions as a result of having a good supply of food, but remember friends are fickle in the starving times.
However the added benefit of having a stable source of food is the for your tribe to begin specialization and the division of labor, leading to minor status

The Acirema tribe continues on its journey back west, but along the way they pass the place they once called home, the Valley of the Ancestors. Thanks to this, and the need to collect supplies, they stop to regather supplies and encounter something they did not expect, the survivors of the Valley.
This has led to some discourse and disagreement over whether to continue west again or if they should settle down at the valley, the locals seem to be in the middle of a minor disagreement over ruler ship and the state of their tribe, but they seem to have plenty of supplies and land to spare, as well as the return of wildlife and plants to harvest, and some of the more friendly groups have even asked to trade goods brought along their journey and of news of the lands beyond, as well as questions of why they have returned. The more hostile elements simply want the Acirema to leave, or worse.
Regardless the tribe is now nearby what they have learned is the Limu Confederation. The avian birds continue to follow the tribe, but have gotten more skittish around the Valley.

The Potatorynu, despite the nightly attacks, have been pushing forward with their collection or search of fruits to eat. These searches have yielded some results, and there are some good sized fruit plants around the forest in which they live, unfortunately, the attackers seem to be intelligent enough to know these locations, and often attack scouts and gatherers on the paths created.
As a result of this the stories passed onto children often mention, in some form, the beasts and the hubris of the ancestors who hunted them, these stories often resonate until death, as most hunters find their end at the hands of the strange creature. On the bright side, they mostly come out at night, and the erection of small walls and bright fires keep the beasts away from the main camp, but the others are often not quite as lucky.
Regardless the plants found have helped the survivors eat, and the beasts seem to not attack the main camps as much, so things have mostly stabilized.

Fishing in a swamp isn’t exactly easy, especially one where in certain spots it becomes incredibly difficult to see into the water, so what can be done to compensate? Answer, things that can either clear the water, or that can be used despite the mucky waters. As such over the years, as the fishers fish and the hunters hunt and the gathers gather a few things are developed.
For the fishers often times to get past having to stay along the shore lines and hope something gets close enough to see and is slow enough to be caught with a spear, you limit either limit its movement, or you get closer yourself. Why not do both? As such the fishers develop both nets to limit the ability of fish to move outside a certain area, by laying the net down in the best parts of the lake and waiting on rafts until an acceptable number are in the area, then bringing the net up quickly to prevent escape, then either using more nets to bring the fish onto the boat or shore or stabbing them with spears until the die. They also develop harpoons to use, basically spears with a barbed end and a string created from vine to pull back on. The nets and strings are made from vine, and the tip of the spear from fire hardened fish bones or Ashar berries.
As an effect of the increase of food and the development of more Neshlek berries being eaten by the tribe food surpluses have increased, and with them the population the tribe has to work with.
After the debacle with the Mukoi splinter, the leaders of the tribe have decided to employ some of the hunters as guards to the food stores, and have equipped them with some of the fishing and hunting tools: The harpoon, spear, club and net being the most prevalent. The formation of this group is meet with a little apprehension, but after the Mukoi stole from the tribe, the reasons are understandable and this added sense of protection helps make the tribe feel a bit safer, or maybe of force thanks to the armed guards answering to the hunting leader. Besides these weapons, some members are even given a new device, made from vines and holding either small stones or sharpened Ashar berries, they are ranged weapons of slings, able to hit people from a medium distance, these plus the harpoons give the tribe a ranged advantage over their ancestors, and will hopefully help protect the tribe against any potential attacker.

EVENT: GovernmentVote: Tribal Confederation (12)
To deal with the various groups that the tribe has to deal with, the tribal council decides to distribute its power to the leaders of the various “clans” that have formed. Each Clan is given a spot in the council in exchange for agreeing to abide by the council's decisions regarding territory and distribution of contributed goods. This doesn’t quite work how the previous council planned, as the new council is formed mainly from the leaders of the clans, who each gain power different ways; some by force, some by election, and some by birthright inheritance. These leads to the old council being delegated into the role of advisors to the council, who each have the support of their clan behind them and often compete with one another for territory or influence. The idea of relinquishing power to a central leader who does not represent them does not sit well with any one tribe, and therefore the nominal “Kun” or king, is nothing more than a judge who only ensures the various “Dikl” or Clan leaders (you may call them something else if you wish, but the terms Clan, Dikl, and Kun were created to give a sense of substance to the government) , follow the conversation and rules of etiquette and sometimes break tie votes, but does not have any real power over the tribe.
While this system has worked for generations, if only because the Clans and Dikl’s gain more by working together than by conflict, especially when conflict would pit the whole tribe against one clan, the discovery of a strange new tribe from beyond the horizon shakes the whole tribe to the core.
First contact with the Acirema reveals some divisions within the tribe, with some of the friendlier groups have asked to trade goods brought along their journey and of news of the lands beyond, as well as questions of why they have returned. The more hostile elements simply want the Acirema to leave, or even worse. This contact with someone the Confederation thought dead has raised questions about what is beyond the valley, and lead to some discussion around the Clan fires
Due to contact with a relatively less established and formed tribe, the Limu Confederation has been raised to Minor status as a power of the Valley of Ancestors.

People:
-Division of power between the 5 clans Dikl’s and their council leads to some tension, but for the most part things are staying friendly.
-Contact with the lost tribe has become a topic of heavy discussion, and the tribal leaders are discussing how to move forward.
-Population is expected to continue growth as food increases.
Contact: Acirema tribe (Neutral Relationship, not many interactions between the two)

-Valley Dweller- The Limu did not leave the valley, and have instead settled within the Valley of the Ancestors, which they know quite well even after the floods, giving the tribe a distinct advantage in their knowledge of the land.
Governance:
-Dikl’s control Clans, and are selected by various means, and are seated on a council which controls the affairs of the tribe as a whole. Elected Kun has very little actual power, mainly a speaker to make sure council meeting stay on track and to voice his support, even if he has no vote.

February Steam of Foushoo - Mukoi Splinter Vote: Cross towards the Forest (19)
Realizing their position in the middle of the swamp is precarious at best, the remnants of the Mukoi splitter have agreed to move towards the forest that they know is on the other side of the swamp. This journey proves to be a wise move, as the forest in which they find themselves has plenty of food and game easily available to the tribe, and they feel as if Mukoi itself is looking after them and their posterity, they manage to collect themselves here and acquire a good amount of supplies and food, with the deep and dark forest before them holding many mysteries’ they are not quite sure what is within.
One thing they do notice, however, it the fact that there appears to be something within their midst that seems to be taking their tools, and sometimes their fruits. And the scouts and various other parties sent into the forest itself often report the feeling that they are being watched by some strange things hidden in the bush.
Regardless of these reports moral is at an all-time high, as the easy fruits they find and the amount of fresher water and high trees provide some good shelter and the comforts of being relatively safe from their Orzal rivals. Not to mention the Ashar berries seem to grow well here, and their ancestor’s knowledge of how to raise them has led to the Mukoi continuing the tradition of eating them, though not to the same extent as they transition to other sources and the Ashar reaches a near divine place, only really being eaten by the shamans and the elders.
Stability: Steady (1)
Power: Tiny (1)
Domestication:
-Ashar Berries (drug like berries often used by shamans in their rituals. Have religious meaning to the Mukoi)
Supplies:
-Ashar berries are at a good level, though mainly kept for specific members of the population
-Local fruits and game are at good numbers

-Increase in food and agreement on leaving the swamp has led to a more unified tribe (detractors are still wandering within the swamp)
-Population expected to keep increasing
-Contact with unknown beings has some of the scouts on edge
Religion:
- Mukoi (The Great fish, named Mukoi, holds the lake upon their back, and their eggs are the sacred Ashar Plant, which provides nutrition and divine messages to those who know its secret)
Contact:
-Orzal Tribe (unfriendly due to circumstances of split off, and the desecration of Mukoi and its eggs.)
Location:
-At the opposite edge of the swamp from the Orzal, they live near a great forest that seems to provide plenty to the tribe

-” Mukoi Fish”- the common belief of the Mukoi helps keep the tribe together, and was the main reason for splitting from the Orzal in the first place
-Ashar Users- Who knows, maybe the Ashar berries do indeed provide divine messages to the Shamans who drink them
