Cool, are you still working on this? I think it would be a pretty good way of advertising the game on the Steam Workshop if you ever finish it.

I somehow managed to find this hidden jewel of a game/concept, just now. I am extremely excited to follow the game's development from this point on. It is truly a joy to have stumbled upon something which combines two main aspects/activities of my life; gaming and science (mainly biology). I wish you, dev. Team, the best of luck with this project! Welcome my dude

oh, you are on Mobile... I had the video stopped at 13:38, but the main point of the reason I posted the video was at 16:23 or something like that, where the Cephalaspis started being slaughtered by the Brontoscorpio. The Cephalaspis had to slide across land in order to get to their birthing pool to lay their eggs and fertilize them... Which would be a pretty interesting thing to do in Thrive if the environments change or something like that, and you need to be able to slide over portions of land in order to get to the place you lay eggs and stuff. Oh! I've watched that show, it was interesting. Also, I just realised why the Cephalos from Monster Hunter is called the Cephalos. idk what you are talking about, but k

So yeah... Gonna try this, hopefully it doesn't turn out too bad... I have been watching this species for a good amount of time now, and I have horded enough screenshots to do some sort of story or something on how they behave in their environment... It's interesting to me, but its most likely due to the fact sitting and watching creatures for almost an hour and a half isn't very exciting. I kept updating the creatures evolution on the Discord, luckily, so it should be rather easy. I'm not sure what I should measure time by, or if I should even use time, so for now I will just use numbers for events.f 0- Map and world environment.I didn't have any global maps from this time period, so I just used these two. North
South
1- The Migration.
at the very start the Blank Slates started to diversify how they looked, and started to adapt to the (apparent) cold environment I accidentally set for them. I found a small herd of small woolly-triceratops-worm things that looked very interesting compared to everything else, so I decided to move them to an island that was fertile, and just the right temperature for them. At first, the herd of Saugenceretops was delighted with their new home, and started reproducing at massive rates. Eventually the heard of 6 turned into at least 12 to 16 if I recall. Evolution was slow, and not much had changed about them for a very long time. 2- Evolution and Migrations Southward
Over time, the Saugenceretops began to overpopulate, and deplete the grass and other vegetation in the north of the island, so they had to migrate south- which was a colder, and more mountainous type of terrain. The overall benefits of migrating south would be: More food, population control (the cold climate would kill a lot of them, leaving more food for the rest), and... That's about it I guess. Overpopulation of the beaches led to drastic changes in the environment. The once fertile, and abundant grassland was turned into a sandy hot beach. ^ Overpopulation results v Migration The migration only took host to around 20-ish of the Saugenceretops, this did not mean it failed though, over time their population in the north stabilized, and allowed the northerners to separate themselves from the southerners. Over the course of this, I have been taking screenshots of lots of different creatures that evolve major differences from other Saugenceretops in their area. I have labeled and numbered each one, but sadly don't have screenshots of all of them. I have prepared a brief timeline for you 1- Nub-legs form on newborns all along the beach. 2- Albino/Discolored Saugenceretops start to evolve. 3- Primitive eyes start to form on newborns near the beach, but mostly inland. 4- Long legs, and primitive social systems form with creatures on the eastern section of the island. 5- Heavily varied creatures start to mix inland, which was never seen before until now. 6- In the far north, on the southern-most side of the mountains, a new species emerges. It's body has been molded to fit the harsh mountains. 7- North Western Saugenceretops start to form Tusks for feeding, and horns for use in mating displays and defense. 8- To the east, a small mountain-peninsula is home to very odd variants of Saugenceretops. Their beaks are long, and each one has their very own set of eyes. They are also not used to rituals and needs the mainlanders have. That's it for this! The rest of my screenshots are for the little bit that I have left to right. 3- Rituals, occurrences, and personalities of Saugenceretops.
By now, I have touched a bit on separation between Southerners, Mainlanders, Northerners, and Easterners, but have never gone into detail about it. So lets go into detail, shall we? -NorthernersNortherners are where the Saugenceretops started, and it's where most of these "Rituals" originated. (What I mean by Originated, is that the rituals where I left off got their roots from) As we know, food was completely depleted by the time the 2nd event-thingy happened, so they needed a way to regulate population. One way they did this was by forcing dozens of Saugenceretops out into the Ocean, forcing them to drown and thus bringing the population down enough to replenish food supplies. The Northerners did this until most of their population spread south, which got rid of the need to do barbaric things like that... For a while. -Mainlanders
These Saugenceretops split from the Northerners in order to find more food, and to be able to have a population without having to force dozens of their own out into the sea without a choice (I guess, I don't know if that's really it, I just like giving them stories :3). They ended up settling on a small bay near the Nursery, away from the Northerners. Eventually, their population began to grow, and the small number that settled was forced to move east-bound to avoid overpopulation, or worse, reverting to the old ways. Over time, the Mainlander's and the Northerner's populations became so large, that they met up again, and began a new kind of population control Mass Cannibalism -Southerners
Southerners where never numerous by any means. Mostly due to their climate, how detailed they where, highly evolved they where, and how far away they where from everyone else. They never worried about running out of food, being out-competed. The Southerners where probably the most peaceful, and advanced kind of Saugenceretops. Another thing that's cool, is that they never came into contact with the rest of the Saugenceretops since the moment they left the Northerners. -Easterners
Probably the least diverse kind of Saugenceretops, they remained isolated from the Northerners somehow, and began evolving among themselves ever since they split off- which I am pretty sure happened in the very beginning when two lone Saugenceretops split from the original herd of 6. I don't know much about them, other than the fact that they tried migrating to the Homeland a few times when I just happened to look towards their peninsula. The Mass Cannibalism How it came to be, how it carried out, and how they adapted.
as I said before, the Northerners and Mainlanders reunited, and decided to make their own dual-culture, completed with one deadly ritual. This Ritual was brutal, but effective, as it both fed the population, and controlled the population, allowing more babies- and more food. The Mass Cannibalism carried out after there was no more food left in the North, and the Mainland. The Saugenceretops needed some way to feed themselves, which led to one killing another, and another killing that one, and two killing that one, and the chain goes on until everyone is full, and the grass grows back. The adaptations to this Mass Cannibalism started showing only after the Mainlanders and Northerners found the fertile peninsula to their East. They immediately arrived at the Island an started to eat everything that was a vegetal on the peninsula. mainlanders and northerners eat the peninsulas vegetation. it just so happens that when the Mainlanders and Northerners where on that peninsula, they started to carry out their annual Mass Cannibalism fest. This devastated the Easterner population, and resulted into their complete extinction. Luckily, enough survived to have offspring... Although, they didn't look like the rest... The Mass Cannibalism was starting to take its toll on the Easterner population- they are more adaptable than they seemed. Some of the offspring start to grow carnivorous styled mouths, and grow more aggressive. Luckily for the rest of the populations, the Mass Cannibalism happens only when the food runs out... Which is quite often... That's all I have for now! I still have the save for this world, so if you guys want more I'm sure i can pump another one out... If I don't then my lack of motivation got the best of me, but luckily I enjoy this so there is still a good chance I will make another one... Anyways, I am going to throw in some extra screenshots in here just in case you want to read a bit more
This is the overall effect of a Mass Cannibalism, more specifically, the one that happened at the Eastern Peninsula.
This is where I left off... Some Mainlanders are starting to head towards the South, and maybe even migrate to another continent

I love nuclear flames! But in relation to the topic at hand, Religion is a great motivator, either for or against such a thing as science. Some of the earliest thinkers were religious and curious about mans relation to god, some of the best kept, no matter how biased, records of some periods are the bible and missionary accounts. At the same time overzealous ideas and refusal to look outside the main source of ideology can be greatly hampering to society and science. Its really an interesting topic and discussion piece, but you know some things are sacred to talk about and such. As for relation to thrive i know there are going to be some religious incorporation, after all no one can dispute the influence religion has had on civilization, no matter the position taken on the religion itself. The idea of different sliding scales appeals to me, for example on one scale could be open vs closed minded (maybe fancy names and effects) and another could be word of god vs a more non-literal definition. But I don't know it gets boring after you flame for over 2 years.

I made my cell so big that it couldn't fit in the editor, and it could swallow everything in its path. I put as many vacuoles and mitochondria as I could on it as well... Eventually it crashed my game and I started over ;-;

maybe showing us how flexible the editor is What do you mean with flexible? What you can do in it, and it's limitations... Also, I guess how far you can push the editor would fit into what he said as well (by push I mean what it can handle n stuff).
