You guys are complaining about dressing to compensate for air conditioning. Meanwhile in Indiana it is 30°at 9am but 70° only a few hours later. How on earth do you ever dress for that.

During the industrial stage Thrive will let you build any you could possibly imagine, so I would like to introduce you to a concept that dates back to World War 2. The Germans, with the help of Rommel, are quickly advancing on oil fields in the Middle East held by British forces. Rommel is outnumbered, but his title "the desert fox" was given to him for good reason. He out flanks the British time after time again. Rommel maintains his offensive towards the oil field when Hitler decides to focus more troop on other fronts. As he aproaches the oil fields his supplies and troops start to run low. Only a handful of tanks remain. Ultimately, the Afrika Corps are forced to disband. Before they disbanded a concept for a new tank emerged. It was a monster tank know as the "Ratte", German for rat. 36 feet tall, 46 feet wide, and 128 feet wide, Allied forces would stand no match against the beast. It would have had a naval gun, various 88 millimeter anti-tank cannons mounted along the side, and plenty of flak cannons would shred anything on the ground. It even would have been mounted with a U-boat engine delivering speeds up to 25 miles per hour. It is so big the tracks alone wet taller than a tiger tank. Unfortunately for the Germans, that oil field meant everything for them. It was one of the main reasons they lost the war. When the Afrika corps disbanded, the project to develop a super tank was canceled. When the industrial stage come out some day, you may be able to resurrect that project.
Here is the full article on the Ratte: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landkreuzer_P._1000_Ratte
This thread was moved to the 'Not Thrive' section because it fits better there. Thanks - S.

Yes but it also depends on what kind of video is made. Xcom only gets about 1000 to 3000 views on Scott's channel. But new videos in a series, or anything new for that matter score much higher in view count. They can range anything from around 100,000 to 1,000,000 (1 million is highly unlikely for Thrive but it has been hit by a few new videos for Eve online). Something similar goes for Dark Edge TV. If she starts doing something a bit different with her Spore creations, the view count rises for than an average video. An average does not account for the outliers Regardless of what these numbers come out as, you will still have a large amount of newcoming developers.
One final thing to note is the domino effect. Once other channels see what another channel has done, they will likely make a video on the same topic. Nerd cubed, Jacksepticeye, and Danny2462 have all at one time or another mentioned they have watched Scott's videos. I image the same goes for Dark Edge TV.

The developers have announced they will start advertising the game via a few YouTubers. I decided I would calculate how successful that campaign may be. First off let's make a few assumptions for our calculations -Thrive has around 3000 people monitoring it's progress to any degree -there are about 15 developers working on the project -about 10000 people will monitor Thrive's progress after ad campaign (quite humble considering subscriber count)
15/3000=0.005 gives us the number of developers per follower 0.005*10000=50 possible newcoming developers after advertisements 50+15=65 developers in all
Note: Getting 65 developers in all would be difficult to manage KSP only had around 20 devs when update 0.19 came out

A game has to really special for someone like Scott Manley or Dark Edge TV (who rarely plays any indie games) to come along and endorse it. Thrive has that special something.
Please refrain from double posting in the future. Thanks - Mysterious Voice in the Sky

As unrealistic as it may seem, if you could get muscles to act like Pistons pushing a crankshaft, you could theoretically have an animal with wheels

I love the main theme, it really fits in with the epic saga of evolution. For future songs maybe you could base it somewhat off the walking with dinosaurs theme.

I know that the plan at least involves updates to organelle models such as the nucleus, ER, and flagella. You can check out the progress they're making on that front here: forum.revolutionarygamesstudio.com/t/organelle-models/88/83although you'll have to scroll down a ways. As far as adding new organelles, I'm fairly certain that those will be added before we hit 0.5.0, but I don't actually know which update they'll be included in. I too, look forward to the predatory pilus. I think everyone wants to shish-kebab another cell. Thanks

I remember in a Reddit post while discussing a YouTube sponsor, there was talk by the devs about making version 0.32 more marketable for newcomers. I was wondering if a part of that would include any more organelles. Not necessarily complex ones, but simple ones like the predatory pilus mentioned here: thrivegame.wikidot.com/gdd-microbe:appendices#toc4.

I'm new to the Thrive forums but frequent on Reddit. I got Scott Manley interested in Thrive for future promo. I will be posting YouTube video on Thrive as of next update under the name RecTRo Early.
