Don't get me wrong, I think everything you make for Thrive is always amazing, but I'm looking forward to how development is moving along. Before an update came out once a year with only minor changes, now it is becoming almost as frequent as major games like space engineers. To say the least this game is the ultimate underdog of gaming. As of now I'm just simply impressed with all work you put forth. Thank you for making Thrive a game that isn't pressured into making more money, instead it's a game where everyone can make an impact.

I'm working on an intro animation for my YouTube channel and I would really appreciate some ideas. I know I want to go for a bit of a retro theme, but other than that I'm unsure. Any ideas would help.
Edit: scratch the retro theme I think I am open to anything

Devs, what are the current decisions on the GUI? Am I correct in believing that there will be two pause screens, like in FTL or Spore? And how exactly is/will ATP be stored? Not a dev, but if you want to know about the gui decisions being made, just check out the dev forums and scroll down until you see "Microbe Gui." As of right now it's still a bit debated over. Sounds cool, I think a good format would be how space engineers is done. Just make sure whoever does it has a half decent mic instead of some garbage built in one that sounds like crinkling paper. A pop filter for the mic might be nice too.
Once we get to about the start of the multicellular stage we could just have a voice over of gameplay with occasional footage of what the team is working on.
*cough *cough just contact me *cough *cough I can record *cough *cough
Edit: I have also seen some of those podcasts, personally they seemed a bit boring. The person narrating the podcasts often seemed a bit bored and tired of outreach. If you want to try to reach out to people, try to act excited and somewhat inspirational.

A) cause I'm slim shady yes I'm the real shady all you other slim shadys just imitating so won't the real slim shady please stand up and put one of those fingers on each hand up and be proud to be out of you mind and out of control one more time loud as you can loud as it goes. I Belgiuming love that song
B) I think instead of just picking easy medium or hard it would be better to just have a slider where at one end it is like creative and the other end all Belgium breaks loose.
C) another very scary but real possibility is the collision of moons. Some of the smaller moons (i.e. Mars' moon Phobos) tend to get closer and closer to the planet they orbit. It has been predicted that Phobos will like crash into Mars one day. Such a collision would wipe out all life on the planet except for maybe a handful of very lucky microbes.

The adware seems to suddenly be gone now, thanks for the support. Anyways I heard there is a dynamic membrane in the next update that moves like it is a real cell. I plan on making a cell with an insane amount of flagellum. Smash the WASD keys randomly, so it looks like it twerks. I plan on calling the species Nicki Minaj It's not going to move like an actual cell yet. It just squiggles around, but the squiggling is not affected by movement Darn

My idea for implementation was to navigate biomes in the future. Organisms with Chloroplasts could navigate to areas with more sunlight. Cells with Thermoplasts return to a volcanic vent when they have ventured away. If the cell used bioluminescence it could return to wherever there are organisms that use photosynthesis. This is a phenomenon known as taxis. Cells with chloroplasts would need to evolve phototaxis to find the highest concentrations of light to thrive in. Cells with thermoplasts would evolve thermotaxis to find the areas with the perfect temperature to thrive in. Anyway according to the internet, magnetic bacteria aren't actually able to control their orientation. They are oriented in the direction that the magnetic charge is coming from. It could be pointing to the nearest iron deposits which may contain some other compounds that are necessary or something. Another form is known as electrotaxis in which cells find electric fields. Apparently it can help the heal faster. Healing isn't a part of the game, so I think it would be nice to have electric fields help with that.

That'd be neat. I have another possibly alternative use for it. What exactly would that use be?

Right but do bacteria have the capacity to remember where a biome is in relation to them? Also what would be the point of a gyroscope in a 2d environment? Read my edit Edit: gyroscopes could quickly change orientation of a cell, so they could escape predators

If you mean NPC organisms, how does a bacteria find other biomes using magnetism? Well, it wasn't mentioned specifically, but it just like what every other compass is used for, directions. From what I am reading in additional studies, it can also be used like a gyroscope due to rotating magnetite crystals. Edit: here is an official sourced supporting claim of achieving maximum growth (you may have to scroll because I couldn't copy and paste) www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/23615196/

I was scrolling around on Wikipedia like always, and I found a very interesting new organelle for Prokaryotic cells that wasn't a planned feature. The organelle is called a magnetosome. It's basically like a compass for cells. Here is the full article: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MagnetosomeMy idea for implementation was to navigate biomes in the future. Organisms with Chloroplasts could navigate to areas with more sunlight. Cells with Thermoplasts return to a volcanic vent when they have ventured away. If the cell used bioluminescence it could return to wherever there are organisms that use photosynthesis. Additional suggestions are welcome for it's uses.

I'm not an engineer nor have I ever been to college (I'm just a high school freshman), but I know my fair share about ALL types of engineering. If you could get muscles to power a crankshaft you could theoretically get wheels on an organism. The only issue is how it would be used and how it would evolve. The only environments I could think of that would have benefits for a wheel would be VERY flat plains and salt flats. In salt flats, having wheel would be absolutely perfect. Wheels would be much faster than any creature with legs.

Seriously is anyone else experiencing major pop-up ads, all of which advertising obvious scams. I don't get these pop-ups anywhere else in the internet except for the forums. It is SOOOOO ANNOYING GAHHHHH!!! Edit: this is just one of the annoying pop ups: 743f9cc0c37f52a12c03-d367e1930ec3440c478dc7e836c7ec7d.r57.cf1.rackcdn.com/lotto/eng/lp5/congrats-apro.html?model=Apple,iPhone&voluumdata=vid..00000003-d476-4fa9-8000-000000000000__vpid..b7402800-ff80-11e5-8dc3-687d1d3a9b6d__caid..448f5fa6-9649-4e0f-960d-46469778f303__rt..DJ__lid..d1223762-9056-46e8-8477-d5e53c529269__oid1..75daa891-c5db-4762-aed7-ff0687e7bfb0__oid2..f4f3cb8c-13c0-4e38-97b2-451477097abc__var1..9288__var2..391__rd..__aid..__ab..__sid..&pubid=9288&subpubid=391&aff_sub=1460338364mb77080984618
