After playing for a bit, I clicked the menu button and it didn't work. Neither did the other buttons of the GUI.

(Now this is the thread for the new version, right?) Great work! But I had a bug as the GUI, although it worked at the beginning, stopped working. (Also, my cell stored lots of CO2, (without chloroplasts) and left a trail of compounds behind, but perhaps that was because I hadn't enough useful compounds?)

Rowdy's names are cool. I would rather attack fish (anglefish). Perhaps riskier, but I like the idea of the creature becoming a badass predator.
We could also stay far from the surface and its Hellgulls, and increase size next time we evolve. If not, adrenaline glands.

As the player's species is probably one of the most thriving it seems like many other species would evolve from it. Will the auto-evo manage that, creating NPC species evolved from yours?

I think we only have one jaw now, so our mouth looks like the mouth of a lamprey or a leech. Am I mistaken?

I vote "Hellgull" as the winged predator's name. And to finish our jaw as mutation. Adrenaline gland would be also good.

I guess that you won't be using compounds in aware, when you are a complex organism. So when and how is going to be the transition from " I have 2000 ATP, 500 glucose, 700 amino acids" to " I am hungry and thirsty, I need food and water"? It's going to be when you first have specialized digestive cells? When you start playing in a 3D environment? When you have a gut? Or when you start Aware?

I think that the skipper fins are the ones that can be used for land evolution. Or the arthropod ones. The dart fins are good in water, but have no land evolutions. I imagine them as shark fins.

It is true that now darter fins would give as an advantage, but if we can't devolve them, when we do the jump to the land ( or to the sky) we will be stuck with them forever. We will be more like sand penguins than sand foxes.

Jaws, then thickened skin to withstand the sunlight?
And yeah, lets hunt the Manawhizzes

I vote to eat, hunt if we need more MP, and then go for the jaws. After that, whatever mutation it takes to hunt the abysserpent (I think thickened skin or increase mass would be great ( if we evolve better fins to try outmaneuver we would need dart fins, and then to make the jump to land we would have to change them to skipper fins (because we are going to make the jump, aren't we? ) ) )

What about "Burgeraptor"? Or even "Burgeraptor thrivina" and so we have a genus and a species.

I vote offensive, to try to outmaneuver them, and have always our spiked side facing them.

I would evolve the necessary mutations to take down the abyserpent (jaws, perhaps more fins or size) and, after avenging the death of Leroy, evolve to prepare us to the land (skipper fins and everything).

Same problem as loonytoony, and I like the idea of dividing the compound section. I would also add small icons symbolizing the compounds to better differentiate them, and, if that is not possible, color coding them. I also noticed that the nucleus is still a plain purple sphere, without textures. And is now the starting cell going to have two flagellum?
Nevertheless, great job with the increased render distance. Now it feels much better!

I see. Kind of the raptors of the sea?

What about larger size? It will be difficult to take on the abysserpent being many times smaller than it.
