So I want to write a story in some sort of Sci-Fi universe, but I have three good ideas and wanted to know which one you guys thought would be the best.
The Swarm Synopsis: A story about Darren Malick, a 23 year-old human who works a Exterminator (a kind of dangerous alien lifeform hunter) and his encounter with a fully sentient hive of bug-like aliens who want to take over planet Cerulean, a colony of the GFH (Galactic Federation of Humanity) and how it changed his life forever.
Bonds Synopsis: A story about TYR, a combat-droid designed with the unique ability to adapt to counter enemy attacks. A malfunction happens when the Welfare of Man (an oppressive, dictatorship that broke away from the GFH) tries to mentally break TYR thinking he is a human, causing him to develop a conscience and emotions. When planet Avalon is attacked and TYR is sent in, he finds that all the inhabitants are dead, save a little girl whom he takes with him, and soon a friendship begins to form.
Lost Contact Synopsis: A story about Sl`Ghyad, a member of the Vylthanid species that live in tribes across the planet. When Sl`Ghyad goes out on a routine hunt, he finds something has crashed and investigates it, but finds that it isn`t from his planet, and it holds a very important warning for everyone.

I like them all ! But if i have to choose i'd say 'The Swarm', because i really like hivemind aliens, and stories about intergalactic invasions.

The Welfare of Man sounds like an interesting concept. I'm guessing from their title they are a Marxist-Leninist dictatorship? The fringe of human-settled space would be a very harsh environment for anyone to thrive in, so a communist regime would probably be the only hope.

I can kinda describe the Welfare of Man as being a mix of a standard communist dictatorship, the Imperium of Man's (from Warhammer 40k) radical xenophobia and the ruthless punishment of the Justice Lords (from the Justice League cartoon).

I like the swarm but isn't it too similar to the swarm by Frank Schätzing ?

I don't really like your ideas. You should write it about a desert planet that has an economy that depends on salvaging broken down ship parts. Call the planet Geornra or Gaetoan, probably Gaetoan. There was a really old but advanced precursor civilization who had a big battle over the planet when the Gaetoans were still in the aluminum age. So a lot of ships fell out of the sky during the battle and crash landed at points around the planet. The Gaetoans built castles around these wrecks because they didn't know what to do with them. Then, when they advanced enough to build their own spaceships, they took their technology from these wreckages. The main storyline could be around a boy who grows up on a farm and just has a normal life, but when his parents discover that they can sell the parts to the ship that is lying in their field, then his whole life is turned around and he starts a new life as a parts smuggler and a pilot. There could be a big space battle at the end where the humans have to team up against the alien invaders. Your welcome! Or you could write it yourself. Just saying

ja1cob, I can see you attempted to be constructive, but your comment came out rather haughty. You can't just tell people "I don't like your ideas." TheGraveKnight wasn't asking for any criticism, nor was he attempting to start a debate. This thread was solely for the purpose of choosing a story to write about. You cannot simply come in here and shoehorn your own idea and tell him it's better than his. These disrespectful comments are the kind that we do not take lightly; this is your second warning.
