I have noticed that the definition of the cells is kind of wrong, if that makes sense
Its just that the cells arent as defined as they look in the editor.
For example a 'T' of hexagons would turn out like a triangle. It really isnt that important plus you dont have to remive the 'blunting' feature completely as it kinda gives a more realistic look.
PS: I really like that UI. 8/8. Much nice. Wow.

I noticed this as well. I made some cells where I only extended out the corners, but in game it Mage it a giant square, which makes it easier to catch and consume.

Apart from that, this method of rendering the cells makes it appear like you have more cytoplasm than you actually do, it's a bit misleading.
I always thought it'd be neat if (when this is implemented) cells start off as amorphous blobs. And they stay amorphous blobs until you evolve the membrane to have a pellicle. A pellicle is a stiff but elastic membrane that gives single celled organisms (like the paramecium or my personal favorite, Lacrymaria olor) ttheir distinctive shape, while at the same time allowing for small changes such as stretching and squeezing.
Edit: A further membrane upgrade would be a fustule like diatoms, or the cell wall (already planned).
