Hello I am new here. I am just so excited for this project I just had to join. So in Spore life is created through a comet crashing on a planet, although it was originally going to start with chemistry turning into cells(this would of been it's own stage and it would of been tetris-like). Well how is life going to start in Thrive? Comet like in Spore? Chemistry? Or some other way I didn't think of P.S Feel free to correct me if I got anything wrong as I have a slight feeling I did .

There's no concrete plan, but it'll probably be settled by whoever ends up making the full opening cutscene. That could be via a comet or primordial soup Miller-Urey-style. There won't be a stage or any gameplay dedicated to it whatever the decision is.

I like the Miller Urey idea. Perhaps follow a drop of sea water carrying organic molecules through the water cycle until an RNA molecule forms.

Fun thought, what if when you reach acention you create new life in a new universe, and when you do that it gives you the same cutscene from the begining. So it's like a loop?

id prefer something like the Hadean Eon... with the planet forming from dust and asteroids... then suddenly water forms and it starts raining then after the oceans have formed... one lighning bolt in the right place at the right time makes a reaction in the molecules forming dna then forming blobby matter unti that blobby matter becomes the first bacteria... after years of bacteria the bacteria start eating eachother... one big blobby bacteria ate a small oval shaped one and a big round one... thus they became the first organelles thus making the first eucaryotic cell... this cell... is YOU... this is where your story begins... this is where the stage begins... now theres only one question... will you Thrive?

I think you're describing the abiogenesis theory, which also is my favorite theory for the origin of life.

Why not magical aliens, you know, the same ones that killed the dinosaurs?

Why not magical aliens, you know, the same ones that killed the dinosaurs? Don't you mean us, when we came in the meteor?

Come on, didn't anyone tell you guys what REALLY happened? (Also, there's always the option to have a loading screen minigame involving abiogenesis, implied to be the player orchestrating the beginning of life.)

I got another idea...
How about we all agree God made it?!
(Or a species that went tru the ascencion gate)...
Nah...

Wait no now that i think about it his actually could make sense but after completimg the game... when u go to ascension gate u technicly become a "god" like entity so at that point u can create lyfe an planets and stuff!!
So maybe ur planet was really created by you but a species u inhabited before and the reason ur microbe doesnt act like the behaviour editor forces the others to is because you microbe was the reincarnation of the last species that reached ascencion and then decided to reincarnate starting over as a new game!!
Also the same rrason u control only one creature until u reach awakening stage!! Here's what i mean: when ur creature dies then the god entity (you) posseses another member of the species!! And after reproduction when u choose to either controll the parent or child is to choose to reincarnate as the child or stay as the parent!!
And when ur species reaches civilization the reason u go as an rts game is because they are too aware and will know if they were possesed OR ypu species got powerfull egnough to allow ypu to controll an entire tribe or civilization of them... while others of the species have escaped ur controll and made their own tribes and cities and when u go back to organism mode ur technicly possesing one member pf the species!! And when ur species reaches ascention gate then you are technicly returning to the immortal realm as ypu are proud of the species u have created and feel satisfied with how u guided them trough evolution...
And now it is time to rest... and maybe restart again and guide another species tru evolution or indirrectly guide them in the sandbox mode!!
That is my second theory of thrive...

I think micrometer thin carbon clothes that get wraped and folded with other materials together and became urcells ,the ancestors of our modern cells and creatures.
This is my theory of life.
and the godentity did it

I think there could be randomized cutscenes, like abiogenesis, panspermia, Miller-Urey. The semi-creationism cutscene only happens when you have reached Ascension.
