New Species! Name: Purpleweed This is a parasitic plant that has been know to destroy entire forests on its home planet. As the name suggests, it is a purple colour, and it has the appearance of a very long root. However, it has sharp thorns embedded in it to protect it from predators. This plant tunnels its way into tree trunks through the use of a chisel like structure at the end of the 'roots.' Using this, it scrapes away the wood until it finds the phloem and xylem of the plant. It then 'hijacks' all the minerals and nutrients it needs to grow, which is why it sometimes goes by the alternative name of pirate plant. Eventually, it reaches the top of the tree where it releases its seeds to spread. If allowed to continue, the tree will soon die.
Unfortunately for the terra formers, one of th trees they put down contained a sample of purpleweed. The parasitic plant has begun its attack and is burrowing through the tree to reach the valuable nutrients.
Edit: I also thought that it'd be useful if when you include a players species in your post, you tag them.

The Bear Trap Moss and their Noofuzz compatriots do nothing to stop the Purpleweed, simply continuing through their life cycle of feeding on sunlight in clearings as well as any organism that dares to enter those clearings in the case of the former.
The Rautiza continue their filter feeding ways, completely unaware of the approaching Tyranites, however, one manages to get the correct angle on a Triceragaster to get a good look at it. Curious at this discovery, it attempts to swim closer to it and the algae patch it protects.

The Waywardian is sensing even more weird chemicals and the water is rippling even more with the dual interference of the Rautiza and Triceragaster. Making like a tree and leaving is not an option, so the minuscule disc speeds the final way toward an algae clump, hoping for safe purchase on its sides. It ingests some nearby floating algal cells and waits. Immortal_Dragon mitobox

The Rautiza sees the movement of the Waywardian and is startled momentarily, backing away, mouth plates opening and closing rapidly to suck in some of the free-floating algae and plankton. After another moment, the curious filter feeder approaches where it last saw the movement, now distracted away from the Triceragaster's presence.

The free floating algae is beginning to run low. With enemies encroaching from all sides, and chemicals racing between the relatively few cells in its body, the cornered Waywardian prepares for the worst. Protein production increases significantly, and the cell membranes brace against the cytoskeleton. Five stem cells are ejected from the body, these will be the starting point for five new Waywardians if they survive.

Unable to truly distinguish what these are in its primitive sight, the Rautiza flees away from the Waywardian stem cells, interpreting it as a form of attack. Unfortunately, it has fled towards open water and more danger than its own evolution has prepared it for. Likely into the path of the approaching Tyranite.

*In David Attenborough voice* Although the Waywardian has frightened away one predator despite its small stature, it now faces two entirely different challenges. The first is the Triceragaster, which shows no signs of retreat. The second, and more pressing, is its own exhaustion. Unless it can gain access to more plant stuffs, it will likely die on its own atop the algae clump, and be eaten along with it. Three of the ejected cells find their way to other algae clumps within the patch. They will most certainly be eaten before maturing. The other two, are en route to the open shallows, where their ancestors were released. mitobox

new species ! name : Scavengers description : Scavengers are pterosaur like creature's with a a short flat head with 4 eye's and a long sharp beak with sharp teeth they have two reltivly large wings and a long tail ending in a knot like thing wich can 'spray' (couldn't find a better word) feromones . the creature has bad eyesight only seeing as far as about 5 meters altough they can see everything in those 5 meters with extreme detail lucky for them they have an extremly good smell and since every Scavenger has an unique set of feromones they can use this to reconize and find eachother (and attract mate's) as the name suggests they're mostly scavengers living mostly of the carcasses of dead animals altough they to catch smaller creatures and even fish somtimes in other to help attract mate's they have extremely detailed colouring on they're body (wich aare always a combination of red and black) they have a pouch in wich they mostly cary food and during pregnancy females will cary their eggs in it they're highly social animals usually living in colonies of about 500 individuals called Seeking Party's (though Party's wil also be good) they moslty comunicate through feromones and have about the intilligence of your everyday monkey (however they lack the problem solving skills to make any tools or anything) and build nests to attract mates and give fish they will usually go out in groups of 20 to 30 individuals and will attack any thread they see they mostly live on tropical enviroments (like jungle's) bordering shores (where they find mostly of their food) a Seeking Party has just bin dropped on the shores highly confused they go out and inmediately search the're enviroment for any possible thread EDIT : i decided that a bird is maybe not intelligent enough so i changed to a monkey

The lone Tyranite sees a small creature emerge, startled, from the reef. Although the Tyranite doesn't know it, this is a Rautiza. Sensing possible food, the fleshy fins on its side propel the predator fairly speedily towards the creature, tentacles preparing for the infamous snatch. It must consume a large amount of food to survive. Meanwhile, the Purpleweed has managed to locate the trees' xylem and phylum and is busy stealing its nutrients to grow upwards. In time, the tree will lose colour and die. But at the moment, it is still going. Immortal_Dragon

The Rautiza continues into open water, unaware of the imminent danger, its eyes mostly situated on top of its head meant to detect any form of predator coming in from above rather than directly ahead. Still slightly startled, it swims towards and to the right of the Tyranite.
Meanwhile, in the forests, the Noofuzz starts to spread further and further along the ground, it's time for spores to be released. Sensing the change, the Bear Traps prepare to do the same. Large clouds of spores are ejected into the air, and become caught in the subtle wind currents that carry them up and up. Some land on the trunks of the surrounding trees, some in the shade, while others make their way to the coast and the highlands. Here those that survive take root and start to form the beginnings of the two species underground. In the forest, however, some of these spores have become latched onto the tree infected by Purpleweed, but are unable to truly take root in the firm bark.

smelling the Noofuz and beartrap spores the scavengers inmediatly freak out as they smelled somthing unkown and think its dangerous so they all fly up and just simply swarm around and screech as loud as they can Immortal_Dragon

The numerous spores simply continue to float in the air, some buffeted by the wings of the Scavengers, while others manage to find purchase on the creatures. The Noofuzz for their part simply sit there, while a select few amongst the Bear Traps start to send out root-like tendrils from their spores and into their unwitting hosts. This is a rare behavior for the moss-like hybrids, one that has never impacted their evolution before. Those that get rooted and aren't removed will begin taking nutrients from the bloodstream of their hosts in larger and larger amounts as they grow. Only a select few Scavengers are playing host to these individuals, and even then not every Bear Trap spore on them has taken root.
The disturbance to the wind currents has made the dispersal of these two species more erratic around some select areas of the forest and coastal areas.

sensing and smelling the bear trap spores on their body the Scavengers really start to pannick in a 'get it of me' way and start to fly around picking themselves to try to get the spores of the other Scavengers watch in terror as they recieve the feromones of other Scavengers and smell the the spores on their comrades body's and quickly fly away from the spores and trying to land in the trees of the jungle whilst keeping a clos eye out of their comrade's Immortal_Dragon

The loose spores of both species get shaken off of the Scavengers and onto the floor of the jungles in their panic. However, this very humid environment makes it hard for both Noofuzz and Bear Trap to take root in the soil. Some of the early rooters get torn off of their hosts and fall into the jungle, where their roots are unable to properly embed them in the ground after the trauma and thus they will shrivel up and die eventually. However, a mere handful of Bear Traps remain firmly rooted on one singular Scavenger.

several toxic calo come out of their trees, sensing a disturbance. The colony senses scavengers nearby. They scuttled towards them, in hopes they can get any food from them.

Unbeknownst to the Scavenger, the extended soaking has stunted the growth of the attached Bear Trap spores. These spores are primarily located around the knot on its tail, its chest, and along the top edge of its beak. They remain rooted, but their scent is now diluted due to the soak in the water, and their nutrient draw has decreased dramatically. They will continue to grow over the course of a couple weeks, but how this has affected them remains to be seen.

In the ocean, the Tyranite closes in on the Rautiza, zooming towards the left. It uses its electro reception to increase its accuracy and keeps the speck in its sight. It quickly catches up with the much smaller creature and its four tentacles are stretched to grab the Rautiza as it lunges. Slowly, the Purpleweed infested in the tree is killing it, and the plant has grown almost to the very top. The tree itself is beginning to weaken as the nutrients essential to its survival are stolen. The pods that release the Purpleweed pods are beginning to develop. Once it reproduces, the plant will become very difficult to stop, and it just might eventually destroy the forest. Immortal_Dragon
