For those of you who don't know about it, the Sporewiki Fiction Universe is a collaborative sci-fi writing community based on Spore. I am making this thread because I think that its inhabitants are a huge potential audience for Thrive, and once the game is complete, they will no doubt make many creations to share. Also, it's just fun to read. Sorry if this sounds like an advertisement, but I am a huge fan of some of the stories on it, so I am slightly very biased. Thoughts?

I think I considered mentioning it before. The sheer amount of world building is mind blowing. All of that from a children's game? A lot of considerations are had, since it's so many people collaborating. Here's a wonderful example of the writing process in action (particularly the evaluation at the bottom).

Please tell me this was never a real fiction.
Also, are you sure you didn't mean to link to the good starter example? Also, I believe the most powerful being ever to exist in fiction is part of it! (No it's not the one you linked to.)

Um, are you sure you didn't mean to link to the good starter example? Also, I believe the most powerful being ever to exist in fiction is part of it! (No it's not the one you linked to.) Well, I felt like showing the bad (and hilariously so) example first would make more sense. What NOT to do, then what to do. As for the strongest fictional being ever... Do you refer to the Xhodocto (since they're basically Reapers on unholy steroids)?

Yep! I mean, they can probably actually do everything in the bad started example. Also, I like them because they broke the rules and successfully blew up the universe. Some civilizations survived, but still...

some of the content seem rather good, but sounds like a painfully ironic violation of the 'bad starter' thing. Forgive me for sounding like an Belgium but it sounds like some juvenile kid doesn't want his creation to be beaten and so changes the rules to his liking...
This is why I make my own stuff (without all the laughably ridiculous 'blow everything up' kind of thing, only Star Wars pulled that off), but unfortunately I'm never really motivated to do anything with it.

Oooo! Destroying the universe to rebuild it from the ruins I love that idea! From what I can recall, the Xhodocto aren't particularly out to destroy and remake the universe. They're born from chaos, and their purpose is to annihilate existence to return it to its former state (simply put, before the Big Bang, when chaos was the only rule). There are other "Essentials" (omnipotent races created by gods rather than through ascension), each using a type of "essence" other than chaos (the benevolent Taldar are administrators of time, thus use "chronoscopic energy"). Naturally, their morality is incomprehensible, if "morality" is even applicable. It's implied that the entire "species" is one entity/process (referred to as "Ouroboros") (in spite of having a leader with a really long name), with one theory being that the Xhodocto are a product of Ouroboros in a "dream state."
