I found this interesting little game: Walkinator. Basically, you create a "creature" using nodes and connections then you can watch it walk and try to get the highest performance possible. I thought we could also use it as an inspiration for the future Organism editor. There is a sentence in the instructions that I really like and that pretty much sums up what procedural animation is: "In a very basic sense, the computer learns how to animate your creature"

That's pretty cool. Not sure how well it would work in 3d because the phase space is much larger but that's definitely worth a prototype.
