This is based on my suggestion in Stealthstylel's "Forum Game Ideas" thread.
How you play: Involvement is at the same level as the Google Picture War thread; you can pick it up and put it down at any time. What you do is you all collectively play as a single creature and its species, and you vote on its actions and evolution.
Gameplay is centered around survival. You have three stats, based on the Giant In The Playground thread I think I provided a link to in Stealthy's thread. They are:
-Health, which determines how much bodily harm you can handle before you die.
-Stomach, which fuels your actions and healing, and must be refilled by eating or you starve and lose health.
-Mutation Points, or MP, which is your currency used to evolve new adaptations. You earn MP by eating, naming species, and defeating enemies in fights.
The first two are concerned during gameplay. As you explore, you will need to eat, which can be an easy or hard task based on where you are. There are other creatures, some hostile, and confrontations with them are the most likely way you'll lose health; fight or flee to prevent this. The environment can take its toll as well. Vote wisely to ensure the best outcome.
Evolution is, again, voted on. There are a selection of mutations to vote on, each varying in how much MP they cost. They will all help you survive, but not in the same situation or way. Indeed, there may be choices you never need to pick. You unlock new mutations to choose by observing or killing other creatures.
Edit: Also, I will post when at least three votes are made, or there is a clear majority (i.e. two votes saying the same thing). After at least 6 hours, if there's too few votes, or no majority, I'll go with the first vote.

Mutations:
-----
You come to being dimly aware of your surroundings. You have no idea who or what exactly you are. You have a vague understanding that you are a fragile, amorphous blob, and that you are surrounded by "water." You are sitting on "sand."
You turn what little means of perception you have to your further surroundings. You can somewhat sense two other living beings in your presence; a "plant," specifically a splotch of algae about your size, as well as an "animal," which you can only say is something half your size creeping along at a slow pace.
You suddenly feel "hunger." Your instincts tell you that this is bad, and you must eat. There are already three choices you can make in this world. The sand around you, the algae, and the creature could all serve as food.
You have 1/2 health.
You have 1/2 stomach.
You have 0 MP.

Mutations:
-Grow Mouth - 2 MP - A simple sucker mouth. Allows you to eat faster than you would by absorbing food.
-Grow Eye - 4 MP - Gives you one eye, allowing you to see your surroundings.
-Grow Tail - 4 MP - You get a thin flagellum-like tail that allows you to move faster than creeping.
-Specialize Enzymes - 0 MP - Pick either plant (herbivore), animal (carnivore), or mineral (geovore) matter to gain more DNA from than the rest.
-Spines - 6 MP - Protective spines that hurt any creature that tries to attack you.
-Thicken Skin - 4 MP - Thickens your skin. Provides a defensive boost against both foes and the environment, but makes it impossible to eat without a mouth.
-Increase Mass - 4 MP - Increases your size. Has defensive bonuses, but makes crawling movements even slower.
-Sand Camouflage - 5 MP - Change your skin coloring to match that of the sandy seafloor. You can only have one camouflage at a time.
-Shell Armor- 8 MP - A protective shell covering your back. Can be made of either keratin (least effective, but repairs quickly), chitin (all-around), or crystal (most effective, but longest repair and require you to eat minerals to do so). Spines evolved before or after this will share the same material.
-Horn- 6 MP - A formidable spike or blade extending from your head, above your eye(s). Can be made of either keratin, chitin, or crystal.
-Jaws - 10 MP - You evolve a set of jaws, making your mouth more effective for both eating and combat.
-Teeth - 5 MP - You evolve teeth to go in your mouth. They can be fine-tuned for either plants, meat, or minerals. Work well with jaws.
-Simple Brain - 10 MP - You evolve a simple brain, necessary for evolving some of the moderately advanced parts, and even unlocks a few more right off the bat.
-Fins - 6 MP - You sprout two fins that not only provide an edge in agility, but serve as the foundation to many other mutations.
-Blood Vessels - 6 MP - A network of thin tubes runs throughout your body, not only transporting materials but also speeding up wound healing through blood clotting. You get to pick the color of your blood, too!
-Adrenaline Gland - 8 MP - Produces adrenaline to give you a boost in fight or flight situations, but with a bit of delay. Requires blood vessels.
-Heart - 10 MP - An organ that beats involuntarily, working like an organic pump. Also eliminates the delay in adrenaline flow and other substances. Will also work in tandem with a certain gas-filtering organ when the time comes. Requires blood vessels.
-Digestive Chamber - 12 MP - Filled with not only your enzymes, but helpful acids. Involuntary muscles push food into it from your mouth. Lessens or destroys the dangers of poisons, food parasites, and other ingested threats.
-Enhance Brain - 20 MP - Allows you to properly communicate and strategize with others of your kind.
-Chromatophores - 20 MP - Rather than evolving to re-activate previously evolved colorings and camouflages, you can change your current pattern to another one you've already evolved at will.
-Darting Fins - 8 MP - Evolve any pair of fins into long, thick fins more suitable for moving quickly. Not quite as good for turning, but better for chasing or fleeing.
-Skipper Fins - 12 MP - Evolve a pair of fins into fins that are narrow at the base but wide otherwise. While no longer as useful for swimming, you can use them to move better on dry land than helpless flopping. The base of vertebrate land-based movement, giving way to the likes of paws, hooves, and pterosaur wings.
-Bug Flippers - 12 MP - Evolve a pair of fins into chitin-coated extremities, narrow at the base and slightly thicker otherwise. While no longer as useful for swimming, you can use them to move better on dry land than helpless flopping. The base of invertebrate land-based movement, giving way to the likes of crab claws, spike legs, and butterfly wings.
-Increase Size 2 - 15 MP - Grow even larger.
-Tentacles - 12 MP - You evolve a pair of thin tentacles, near your mouth by default. They are manipulative and versatile, but are feeble on land.
-Lungs - 20 MP - Two sacs that extract oxygen from the air you breathe. Transitions you to the world of land.
-Endoskeleton - 12 MP - You evolve an endoskeleton supporting your body. Allows you to use more advanced vertebrate limbs and other structures.
-Advanced Eye - 10 MP - An eye (or pair of you have one) you already have is upgraded to a more advanced optic suitable for seeing out of water.
-Thicken Skin 2 - 10 MP - Your skin evolves to not only withstand more damage, but also withstand the sun's glare. However, you must still keep it moistened.
