Hey Can I Try Manage Evolution Game Nobody's stopping you. The Forum Games subboard is for unlimited community input, with reasonable restraint. Kind of like how the Sporum was like in its "golden age;" new RPs left and right. Feel free!

I know I would definitely not have the time to manage this, but one idea is a Strategy Mode version of the Thrive Official Forum Game. Instead of playing as a species you play as a civilization, and instead of picking mutations you pick policy changes/plans of action/government orders (with the dice roll of course). A player's civilization could fall just like how a player's species could go extinct, and they would have to branch off an existing civilization. It would get as in-depth as the host wanted, with the players making the decisions and the host doing the secret dice rolling and event planning.

Branching off might need a dice roll to simulate the effects of a civil war. The higher the roll the more easily you are able to break off, and the more intact your nation is at the start. Of course that could just add a lot of unnecessary difficulty to new players.

Would anyone be interested in creating a skype group for roleplaying games similar to the Way of the Uetiko Hunter or X Files RP?

Or want to gm or join?

If we were to do a Skype group, I would gladly GM and already have two ideas for the storyline, one of which would take place years after Way of the Uetiko, so long as mitobox would allow me to use a future timeline of WotU. Because it's years later and a different threat has put the galaxy in danger, players would not need to know anything about the Uetikoes, since it's hinted that a majority of them were taken care of or lurk hidden in dark corners of the galaxy. The main issue would leave each player cast as one of four factions with its own wants and needs. As for the other idea, if mitobox would prefer to keep that other universe within the WotU thread (perfectly understandable), I think that it might be interesting for players to be pit into an intergalactic guild as hands-for-hire, being set into odd jobs and quests. From there everyone would have the ability to specialize in particular classes as well as one of 5 races, with space for any player-created ones as long as they've been run by me beforehand to help ensure everyone has a fair chance. This game would play more heavily like a game of D&D. Of course, I'd first need to get a feel of anyone else who might be interested? A group of 4 plus myself for a total of 5 would be necessary.

I don't have a specific game idea, I love all of the games everyone has come up with here, but I do have a suggestion, maybe instead of using a d6 we could use a d20, it would help give a wider range and add more chance to the games I think. Just my opinion.

I was thinking about a forum-based city builder. The basic idea that I had was for a map to be constructed that had a grid of properties, and each player had starting money. That money can purchase buildings of various sizes and styles on these properties. Each player would start with one property and then have to buy more as they progressed.
The goal would be to use your buildings to amass more wealth and buy other players' land eventually working to own the whole "city". This idea requires a lot of effort to design the economic system, but I think it might be neat if its fleshed out (i.e. things like random events, like a housing crisis that reduces income from apartments, or an increase in the building code's standards that subtract money from each player)

Thanks StealthStyleL ! I'll probably think of some less vague terminology and post a more detailed description at some point.

Gods of the Planet
Basically, a pantheon (roster?) of gods is defined for players to fill and use. The gods all reign over a single planet and can interact with it. The god of fire could start fires and raise global temperatures, the god of ice could lower temperatures and make glaciers, earth could move the continents and spark volcanoes for the god of fire to use, etc. The players could act freely, or the gamemaster could give options for them to choose from.
The mainstay of the game would be directing the course of the planet's evolution. Simple life in the oceans will evolve into greator forms. The gods' job is to lead the life to greatness, but how? Will they try to avert a mass extinction (key word try), or will they allow it to happen in order to get greater lifeforms than before, at the risk of total extinction? How to handle sapient life?
The goal would be to achieve intelligent life that can travel beyond their home, bringing the gods' influence with them, thus ensuring the pantheon's survival.

Recently I had a nostalgia trip for an MMORPG I used to play when I was in middle-school called "City of Heroes". Oh man, it was probably one of the (if not THE) best MMO I played. So it was a super-hero MMO set in a completely original world, and one of the things that I liked the most about this game is the character creation. So many options, and with each updates you had even more choices. Oh! And the community was awesome! Believe it or not, but during all the time that I've been playing it, I never came across a troll (well actually, there were enemies in the game called Trolls, but whatever...) For a long time, I have been wanting to do a superhero RP but I don't think I would be able to GM it, so whoever wants to do it I would gladly join it.
