Alright, we are getting somewhere. We should stay in the caves for now.
Vote: Organize hunting packs to get us a reliable source of food in this harsh land.

Our people live in the jungle, the plant organisms here are obviously different from the ones at the valley. We should make tool made from harder stones for cutting wood and clearing underbrush to make our life here easier.

Round 3
Fern ( serialkillerš“) Vote: Build houses (4) Outcome: Your people attempt to gather materials to build sturdier shelter, but their efforts seem to be in vain as the constructs fall to pieces shortly after being erected. Confidence in the bandās elders is at an all-time low, and multiple families leave your band and scatter into the valley, never to return to you. Stability: -3 Power: 1 Yirha ( aviscerator) Vote: Make wood clearing tools (17) Outcome: Your people make sturdier axes, with rock heads better shaped for cutting wood. They allow you to clear bigger swathes of the forest, but they donāt get much use by your people as there are no constructions to make room for, as your band mostly climb into the branches for a safe place to sleep at night. They are, however, good for getting materials to make tools out of quickly and efficiently. Stability: 2 Power: 1 Kathak ( blackink) Vote: Retry making the boar hunting spears (12) Outcome: Your spears no longer shatter on impact without piercing the hide of the beasts. Instead, the shaft of the spear still shatters, but now the stone points of them are left embedded in the hide. Your hunters have started using these boar spears by throwing them from a distance, so that when the weapon shatters the animal is left with a bleeding wound but the hunter is out of reach of their teeth and tusks. The moderate success has rallied confidence in your eldersā leadership abilities, with the calls to return home quieting down, but not being completely silenced. Stability: 0 Power: 1 Tuuk ( QuantumCrab of '18) Vote: Disband nomadic lifestyle for a sedentary one (12) Outcome: Your people somewhat accept the idea of staying in one particular place. The cultivation of the jelly-filled nuts is somewhat of an incentive to stay, but still some of your people are restless for greener pastures beyond. Perhaps if they had something a bit sturdier to stay in than branches, they might be a bit happier. Stability: 1 Power: 1 Thaku ( oncpapa) Vote: Send a scouting group north (11) Outcome: Your scouts report the presence of further glades full of trees laden with Durnki cones, but you seem to have found a particularly plentiful glade where you ended up. This helps your gatherers some, but not a lot. However, your scouts also report finding signs of another band, though they havenāt made definitive contact as of now. Stability: 2 Power: 1 Yslach ( lordclassyus) Vote: Organize hunting packs (7) Outcome: You organize your hunters into small packs, and send them into the caves you have made your home in. They encounter hostile creatures similar to bats with perpetually upside-down bodies and large tusks that attack in pairs when your hunters get too close to their nesting grounds. Your hunters bring back some carcasses, which bolster your supplies, but being so close to clearly hostile life on the trails and in the caves has made your people even more nervous than before. Stability: -2 Power: 1 Bukar ( Aquos) Vote: Move downstream to the lake (17) Outcome: Your band makes their way down towards the lake, fishing and gathering berries along the way. Supplies and morale remain high for the whole way through, and upon reaching the lake, those who take up fishing report creatures that resemble manta rays with one long tail and two shorter ones, four whip-like feelers on the head in addition to eyes, but three pairs of gill-like openings on the tops of their bodies that allow them to filter feed in the shallows. These along with some of the berry bushes that grow some distance from the shore, as well as clusters of smooth-shelled nuts that grow on fern-like trees now make up your bandās diet. Morale has never been higher, your people celebrating their good fortune. Stability: 3 Power: 1 Thourian ( soundwave) Vote: Tame the new reptiles (12) Outcome: Your people attempt to tame the large reptiles by tempting them with food. While the Degi nuts seem to be considered a nice snack, the animals still refuse to follow our own back to camp. However, our gatherers are now a welcome sight amongst their herds, seeming perfectly calm in our presence. Stability: 2 Power: 1

We cower at sights that are unknown to us. Beasts are not different.
Vote: collect wood from the surface. With that, we can make fires in the cave to scare of any predator. This should keep our perimeter save.

Send our scouts to search for potential livestock animals and/or cultivable plants. Also we'll name the rodent-eating insects Higiil.

I won't lie, we've had our first fatality (of sorts) in the game. I feel bad for it being so early, so I've made a decision on how to handle this and placed a note down below. I hope this seems fair to everyone. Round 4
Fern ( serialkillerš“) Vote: Retry house construction (1) Outcome: The second try is a total disaster, all attempts lead to almost immediate collapse, causing some serious injuries as well as some fatalities. Deciding that the elders of the Fern are mad, families leave your band at an alarming rate, until eventually, the Fern are no more, scattered to the winds as a multitude of mini-bands searching for some form of solace from the ill fortune that seems to have plagued them. (Since this early loss is rather unfair, read the note down below.) Stability: X Power: X Yirha ( aviscerator) Vote: Search for potential livestock/cultivatable plants (6) Outcome: Your scouts remind the elders that you have access to the purple fruits, and also report the presence of large, six-legged armored reptiles with a single scoop-like tusk growing from their mouths that they use to dig up whole sprouts of what appear to be brown, knobby tubers. These animals are territorial, however, and have driven away any scout that tries to bring back one of these tubers, which seem to grow almost exclusively in the reptilesā territory. Stability: 2 Power: 1 Kathak ( blackink) Vote: Develop string making (16) Outcome: Your craftsmen begin making strings from the tendons of the boar creatures, leading to the advent of weaving amongst your people. Simple nets allow hunters to better carry their catches, sometimes even in bunches over their shoulders. Your people also start making more complex clothing to better cover themselves during the cold seasons using the boar strings and leather hides. Stability: 2 Power: 1 Tuuk ( QuantumCrab of '18) Vote: Build houses in and around the trees (19) Outcome: Your people come upon a breakthrough in technology. The development of small huts made up of interwoven grass and twigs. Light enough to be perched in the branches of trees, and sturdy enough to be placed on the ground, your band can now officially be called a civilization as they settle into their new housing. The structures in the trees more often than not are storage against ground-dwelling scavengers, while your people start making their homes on the ground for the first time since time immemorial. The farming of the nuts is a lot more consistent now that you have truly settled into a singular location, as your gatherers can now tend to the plants regularly. Leading to a small population boom, though this benefit is limited by the inability to keep food for long periods of time. Stability: 3 Power: 1 Thaku ( oncpapa) Vote: Search the north further (6) Outcome: Your scouts once more set out to the north, easily navigating their way through the already scouted trails. This time, they find a more definitive sign of civilization, as a spear nearly strikes one of your scouts, causing them to flee back to safety. Though not before one of the spear tips was retrieved, bearing marks of foreign shaping, but clearly deadly, the shaft of the thrown spear having shattered upon hitting the tree, leaving the stone spear tip embedded. This has caused some alarm amongst your band, some insisting that this means some hostile band is nearby, while others insist that there is more going on. (Your scouts have seen signs of the Kathak band, but no official contact has been made as of now.) Stability: 1 Power: 1 Yslach ( lordclassyus) Vote: Gather wood for perimeter fires (3) Outcome: Your people search desperately for wood, but find it to be scarce amongst the mountains. And what wood they do find is used to keep the families warm when the cold intrudes into the caves. Even worse, your sentries report that the bat creatures have been seen wandering up from the depths of the earth, seeming attracted by the smell of your people and the meat they cook. Many are scared by this development and strongly urge the elders that the band flee the caves and these clearly cursed mountains. Stability: -3 Power: 1 Bukar ( Aquos) Vote: Develop fishing spears (13) Outcome: Your people begin development of spears meant to spear the rays seen in the shallows. An early prototype with a hook-shaped wooden tip has been made, but has trouble spearing the rays consistently, leading to inconsistent catch rates. However, the new source of food is most welcome as your band becomes the first to enjoy seafood and morale is high as a result. Stability: 3 Power: 1 Thourian ( soundwave) Vote: Create housing (13) Outcome: Your people begin creating huts made of grasses found in the valley. However, they are often far too small for anything but use as storage of food in the trees to keep it away from scavengers. As a result your band experiences a tiny population boom, but little other benefit is reaped from this development. Stability: 2 Power: 1 Important Note: Due to it being so early and one band having collapsed, Iām going to do something a little different, maybe even unexpected. serialkillerš“ will remain in the game due to this loss being so early. However, frogonunicycle will also join the game due to being first on the waiting list. You may both name your new bands and will start off as one of the mini-bands that split off from the Fern in the new valley. Your people will have all developments made by the Fern before they dissolved, but also fear the mountains to your west and consider them an unlucky, even evil place.

To serialkillerš“ and frogonunicycle as an alternative, one of you may take control of the Kashar band, the group that split off from the Fern during their migration through the mountains.
