As mentioned in the Shoutbox™, the community may or may not be having a nice little game of Civilisation fairly soon. If we decide in favour of it (vote in the poll above or face judgement), we need to organise two things- Time/date and which Civilisation to play. Our big problem, obviously, is time zones. We're talking biiiiiiigg differences here. Probably cross-ocean or cross-continent. We need to find a time when we can all play at the same time. My best guess is 20:00 BST, which is 21:00 CEST, 12:00 PDT, 13:00 MDT, 14:00 CDT, 15:00 EDT and 16:00 BRT. While this does cause some issues for Asians (and yes, I have accounted for it.), this is a comfortable time from what I can gather from member's time zones through limited information. I apologise if this is not suitable for some people. But as long as you don't live in Japan, Eastern China, Northern India or Australia you should be fine. Sorry if it seems a bit effortless. If anyone has a better time, feel free to suggest it. May you stand the test of time

I think that is a good time, and I would suggest Sundays because typically in many countries it's the day most people are home and don't have school or work.

But wouldn't that create an issue with Christians? EDIT: Wait no I'm a Belgiuming idiot, I don't think you'll see a lot of Christians on a forum about simulating evolution. (But still, maybe some people live in religious areas and have to be quiet on Sunday or something)

Okay, so I looked it up, and it says nothing on silence on sundays. Must either be not true or only on very important religious dates.

Most people don't care about that rule anymore, and those who do tend to only care about actual work. Last time I checked, playing games isn't qualified as work (well, unless it's your job I guess...). I only know of one branch of Christianity that would condemn this, and they are restricted to one of the tiniest island nations in the world.

Well, as of 21:51 BST on 22/09/17, it seems that we as a group of 11 people have a majority vote of 7 for yes, civ v. 1 voted for civ vi and 3 voted no. Well, due to the ways of voting, it's gonna be a civ v game on (desired date & time). Sorry 4 people who voted otherwise.

Is it going to be standard Civ 5 or are we going to use the dlc's? I suggest not to use any mods for stability reasons.

It depends on whoever's playing. I'll update the poll.

Let this post revive this thread. May we at last remember its purpose.
That way we can vote and keep this waggon rolling.
