So I finally wandered back to this game. I found it a long time ago, at least three years. I can't actually tell because I couldn't find the old updates and such, but I remember the feeling of excitement I felt at the prospect of following my own species from its humble beginnings to the stars. Plus, I loved the theme. I was excited when I saw the hexagon cells and struggling to understand the blocky floating molecules (I hadn't even taken the bio courses necessary to understand that crazy stuff) Then my interest dropped off for a while. When I happened to think of it, I wrote it off as an abandoned project- it was too ambitious and the devs had probably given up.
Imagine my excitement when I returned to see that it was still alive and kicking! I decided to finally join this lil community- follow it through to the end. That sounds more chivalrous than it is, most likely ill just check up on its progress every month or so until it releases, or until it dies. I hope for the former. A game (and its ambitions) like this is so crazy unique, and it's always awesome to see variety and creativity in the video game pool. Hell, I've even started to take up programming and game design as an actual viable career choice, so maybe in the distant future, I might even help out! I doubt it will be finished by then, anyway.
I'm so thankful to the devs for sticking to it. Spore was one of my favorite games as a kid, the idea of taking charge of an entire species enraptured me. This project, if completed, would be so much more!
I wanna tell you guys to stick to it! Keep 'er goin'! We're rootin' for ya!
