So recently I did a run where I got very fat and started eating every other living thing alive. It was fun- firstly because of how entertaining it is to watch another creature attempt to escape your cytoplasmous grasp while being in high levels of agony, and secondly of how damn rewarding it is.
How is 0.3.4 different from 0.3.3 with engulfment???
You get a kajillion ATP from a simple little microbe, for goat's sake. Who DOESN'T want a kajillion ATP?
Seriously though, whoever had the idea of ATP clouds dropping upon death is a complete genius and deserves a million pound (dollar, whatever US) nobel prize. These clouds are pink, in case you didn't know, and they don't just give you around 5 ATP- they give you dozens, if not hundreds of the stuff. It's at the point where it makes oxygen/glucose collecting absolutely pointless until you need to evolve, or mutate as the game calls it. I personally feel as if it needs to be nerfed slightly, but still at the point where it gives a balance of requiring to engulf and collect GOA (an abbreviation I just made up for glucose, oxygen and ammonia, which is placed in such a way that it is also the name of the capital of the Songhai Empire. I'm a nerd, alright?). But if the devs feel like they want to keep it as is, they can.I'm not complaining.
How is it different from 0.3.3~~~~~~?
If I remember correctly, in 0.3.3 you just got whatever the organism had, meaning if it had virtually nothing you received nothing. This made engulfment absolutely pointless in my book, as A. you didn't know which organism had the resources you needed, and B. it wasn't very rewarding either way. I can understand that some people like taking the risk, but I don't really see the fun in putting 30 ATP into engulfing, to only get barely anything in the outcome.
Which organisms are the best to eat alive~?
In my opinion, the best organisms to engulf are the smaller, more basic organisms. This is because they're smaller, and therefore the gas clouds will be closer to you and more concentrated initially, meaning that you'll get more out of it. However, if you eat the big bad cells (most notably the toxies; they were only slightly big in my game.), the cloud will spawn a bajillion nanometres away from you, meaning that all the other cells will eat the cloud before you even get to it. Even then, if nothing eats the cloud, it'll disperse before you get it. I personally don't think that's fun (especially when toxies release their sweet syrup into your delicate cytoplasm), so I tend to stick to the smaller cells.
Do you have anything else to say?
no
yes actually
apparently they're amino acids
thanks again crodnu
you're a hero
Bye!
