For those who have seen the Thrive Universe pages, you would know that my species the Ionax don't actually inhabit planets but rather giant ships for their empire. Would this actually be possible in the game or is it just a concept?

Well, there's been talk of being able to be a nomadic civilisation in primitive terms, somI don't see why this couldn't stretch to ships in the later stages.

If a civilisation has only a home planet and a fleet and the home planet gets destroyed or becomes uninhabitable then, voila, you are nomads.
I like to think one of the death modes will be a super intelligent AI taking over your planet and driving you off it. Maybe it converts the whole thing into postage stamps.

The planet would be postage stamps? AI stamp collectors, very dangerous.
