It is a period of civil war...
Just kidding, this is not star wars.
The formerly peaceful galactic government has fallen apart when the meeting was interrupted by a series of bombs. The four sub-groups that ruled under the central government are now independent, and are now fighting for control.
The four sub-groups are:
Humanoid
Insectoid
Avian
Android
Humanoids: A well rounded alien who represents the top right part of the galaxy. Mammalian, with few hair and many colors of skin. Standard cost for most units.
Insectoid: A slow moving heavily armored alien who represents the top left part of the Galaxy. Arthropods of many colors, and few have wings. Decreased cost of Infantry.
Avian: A fast moving alien who represents the bottom right. Birds with many different colors of feathers. 99% can fly. Decreased cost of ground air support.
Android: A well rounded machine which represents the bottom left. Comes in many different shapes and sizes. Doesn't use manpower to build units. Can convert droids of other groups to their side easier. No penalty to unmanned units.
With the complete collapse of the government, each group must redesign their government. The previous government was very peaceful, and the new governments realize they must design a military if they are to survive. All settled on 4 units for ground battles:
Infantry: Ground forces. Made always made up of population. Good against other infantry, use any kind of weapon, as well as a mix of weapons. Always has foot tag.
Ground Air Support: Always a light air unit. Can only use a support weapon.
Light Cavalry: Always a light unit. Can use an anti-foot, light, or support weapon.
Artillery: Always a heavy unit. Can use anti-foot, heavy, or air weapon.
And 3 units for space battles:
Interceptor: Light Air unit. Only uses anti-light weapons.
Bomber: Light Air unit. Only uses anti-heavy weapons.
Destroyer: Heavy Air unit. Only uses support weapons. Deals massive support damage.
The weapons that goes with the units have some advantages to different types of units(Use these like tags on weapons and units):
Foot: Infantry. Weapon is rifle like. More damage=Higher rate of fire and reload time. Cannot be combined with Air.
Air: Flying unit. Weapons against it are large, heavy, and expensive. Cannot be hit with anything other than anti-air, or other air units. Cannot be combined with Foot.
Light: Fast units with low armor. Easier to destroy. Weapons are long range, accurate, and not very powerful. Cannot be combined with Heavy.
Heavy: Slower units with more armor. Harder to destroy. Weapons are large, heavy, and expensive. Cannot be combined with Light
Support: A weapon only tag. Only increases the damage to units with like weapons, and increasing damage of other units.
Weapons can only specialize towards one tag, while units have two tags.
Notes that I couldn't fit in:
Avians are the only group that can have a foot air unit, but only as infantry. Other units that aren't air can still damage, but aren't as effective.
Tags on your units and weapons will ultimately be decided by me, but; put them down in the signup sheet so I know what you were trying to go for.
I was having a hard time deciding what type of galaxy map to use. A hex grid, or the Battlefront II galactic conquest type of map. Look at my post here for a description of the two map types. It will be in a poll above this post.
Insectoid infantry will always be heavy foot.

Am I going to post frequently: (Y/N) If answer is N, you aren't going to be accepted, but it might help people who do want to post frequently create their sign up sheet. Also, I found it fun to build some of the units here on my own.
