For making tools, you could put different ends (FPs) on an object, such as blades, flat shovel ends, curved rake claws, etc. The shape of the object will influence the use, such as digging/tilling, or dealing different damage types.

Why not things like radio dishes/antennas for communicating? Or at the end of the industrial age, you use solar panels?
Hold on! I just got a beautiful idea!
What if, you have limited fuel on the planet(gas) When you start the industrial stage, you're given really no efficient technology, and you have to adapt to make more efficient fuels, or more renewable fuels before the 'gas' runs out, which sends you back to tribal or whatever, or greenhouse gases kill your species?
You can take a fish to mud, but you can't make him skip!
Sounds too linear. On a Thrive planet, mothers could either be too much fuel or too little, it depends. Making this a task-driven game is going away from what it's meant to be.

Immortal_Dragon: A terrorist attack is one that is politically motivated and is intended to have a political outcome or effect on the political climate. At least I think that's what the criteria are.

TheGraveKnight: So I finally beat the Automatron DLC for Fallout 4. Despite the obnoxious farming that I had to do, it was still fun, especially at the end.
