How will upgrading organelles work? I've been looking on the wiki, but it never says anything about it, further than: "you will be able to upgrade organelles", but it was never explained how. So my question is: How will upgrading your organella work? will it be like a tech tree? where you can upgrade certain things like efficiency, or for example for vacualoes, how much will fit in it? or will it just be "you click and everything gets an upgrade"? Also, how will you "pay" for the upgrades? Will it be using the mutaion points? Because if it does, the upgrades will probably end up being more expensive than you have mutaion points if it gets more expensive over time.

We're still figuring out the exact mechanic. Right now, what we'll probably try out is a system where you can upgrade various stats of each organelle type, and where there are limits that force you to make tradeoffs between various stats.
Upgrades would cost mutation points, but you pay MP for an upgrade to all organelles of a specific type; and the cost is separate from the cost of placing an organelle. You'd pay the same cost to place a specific organelle, even if you've upgraded the type already a lot, and the organelle you place is therefore highly upgraded; as you would if you'd placed the organelle down before upgrading them all.

I meant that upgrading the organelle would probably costing like 50 MP, so you would have to waste a whole mutation on it... How are you going to fix that? Or was that supposed to happen (I keep forgetting how grindy this game is)

Ohh, we'll probably make each pip of upgrade much less costly. So it might cost 10 MP to upgrade a particular organelle just a bit, while you can make up to 100 MP worth of upgrades on that organelle.

Moopli"less costly" means cheaper... Do you mean it will be cheaper the more you have upgraded it? Because that just seems illogical...

Nono, I meant in comparison to the costs you thought would be likely.
The system we start with will probably be kept simple: say, 10MP for each upgrade, up to 10 upgrades allowed at the same time on an organelle type (so maybe you upgrade 'processing rate' +7 and 'energy efficiency' + 3, where each of those parameters likely feeds into a nonlinear equation with some diminishing returns, but each unit of upgrade costs the same.
We may well decide that there could be a particular upgrade for an organelle type which slightly reduces the MP cost for adding a new organelle of that type, but I don't see that as likely.

Will there also be a description of each upgrade? Like what happens? (Just curious) Edit: With a description I mean one of those fancy descriptions that explain what happens scientifically... ("By improving the strength of the flagella, they can be longer, allowing them to speed you up faster")

("By improving the strength of the flagella, they can be longer, allowing them to speed you up faster") I mean if someone is willing to write a bunch of templates we might randomize them every time you upgrade. Also, check out my post on this thread for more mechanics: forum.revolutionarygamesstudio.com/t/organelle-functions/105/15?u=thecreator
